Pilots! Man, (Or Ork!), Your Aircraft!
Here at Forge World we always try to reward people for making that extra effort in coming to one of the events or shows that we attend. We always try to make sure we have a good display of lovely models to dribble over and a wide selection of stock for you to buy from. We also like to make the occasional quirky model, just for the fun of it, and take it along to these special shows for people to buy as a memento of the day.
Ladies and gentlemen, please feast your eyes on the
Imperial Navy Thunderbolt Pilot and
Ork Skwadron Kommander models! Inspired by the phenomenal success of our aerial combat game 'Aeronautica Imperialis', the finely detailed Imperial Navy Thunderbolt Pilot is the work of Simon Egan and the massive hulking Ork Skwadron Kommander has been designed and sculpted by Mark Bedford.
Available only at the shows that Forge World attends, both these fantastic models are bound to be very sought after. (P.S. We are hoping to have a very few available for sale at the Forge World Open Day this Sunday, see below for more details on that...)
The Hour Fast Approaches - Forge World Open Day, Sunday April 1st @ Warhammer World, Nottingham
We are just a few days away from the first ever Forge World Open Day! This Sunday, April 1st, Forge World will take over most of Warhammer World in Nottingham and spend the entire day showcasing exactly what we can offer to expand and supplement your hobby.
The entire Forge World Design Studio team will be there to show you what they are working on. Want to see what they?re up to? Come along! As well as themed games of 40K from the worlds of Taros and Anphelion that you can bring along your own models and join in with, we have several tables of Aeronautica Imperialis for you to try out and play.
I have just been told that we will have a significant section, if not ALL, of the eagerly awaited ?Imperial Armour Volume 5 - The Siege of Vraks? there for you to leaf through too!
At this exact moment in time I can neither confirm or deny the possibility that Forge World may, or may not, have Death Riders of Krieg on display, or sightings of a completely new super-heavy tank in the Forge World Design Studio. If such rumours were true, I suppose that there is a chance that we might have some pre-release models for sale too? To find out, you?ll have to come along on Sunday!
Are You Coming Along?
As entry to Warhammer World for the Forge World Open Day is completely free and were laying on a variety of interesting activities and attractions, it could be quite a busy day.
To help make sure we get our staffing and catering requirements right, if you are planning on coming to the Forge World Open Day, can we ask you to let us know by sending us a blank email to
[email protected] with how many people will be coming in your party in the title?
I have been reminded to mention that Bugman?s bar will be open and ready to refresh and refuel those in need of a drink or a bite to eat all day and they will be serving from a full lunch menu from 12-3pm.
Forge World Painting Competition
Remember we?ll be running a special painting competition on the day too. The rules are very simple. Models entered into the competition must be made by Forge World or contain parts made by Forge World and the competition is open to anyone except employees of Games Workshop. Most importantly, the judges? decision is final. The judges will be looking for the best painted and most characterful representation of a Forge World model.
Judging will be made by multi-Golden Demon winner and Forge World Designer Mark Bedford and myself, Ewen Little, winner of nothing, but long time judge of the prestigious Forge World Best of Show award at Games Days around the world.
The winner will be presented with a rather nice trophy we?re having made up, and have their winning entry photographed and displayed on our website for the world to admire.
Reservations and Buying Stuff
The Forge World sales stand will be in its usual place in the main hall where we should have examples of all our newest kits and models on display for you to drool over and take a much closer look at.
Anything that you might want to buy we will get picked and packed from our warehouse that day but if you want to place a reservation order to collect on the day without waiting, please just send us an email titled Reservation order to
[email protected] containing your name and a list of what you?d like us to have ready for you to collect. Alternatively, give Simon, Alan or Stuart a quick call on the phone and they`ll be happy to take care of that for you too. Please get your reservations in to us by the later time of 12pm Thursday March 29th so we can get them all picked and packed up for you.
`Children In Need` Charity Raffle - Win a Warhound Titan
If you`re feeling lucky and would like to give a little money to a worthwhile cause at the same time, we`ll be holding a charity raffle to be drawn at the end of the day. A mere £1 per ticket will enter you into the draw to win a Mars pattern Warhound Titan worth £280! Every single penny raised by the raffle competition will be given to the charity `Children In Need` so please buy some tickets and you could go home with a huge Titan model under your arm and a warm glow from helping out kids in less fortunate circumstances.
Games Day France - Sunday April 15th @ LE Stade De France, Paris
Forge World's 2007 world tour kicks off properly in Paris at the world famous Stade de France for Games Day France on Sunday April 15th. This is always one of the highlights of my year as the atmosphere at this busy event is just great and the standard of the painted models entered into the Golden Demon painting competition here in France is amazing. Forge World will also be looking through all the Golden Demon entries for the best painted example of a Forge World model. The talented individual whose model is chosen by our judges will win the special ?Forge World Best In Show? award, just like these lucky previous award winners here.
As this is such a busy show, if you want to be sure of getting the Forge World models you want at Games Day, may we suggest placing a reservation order? Just send an email titled 'Games Day France' to
[email protected] telling us your name and a list of what you want to order. We shall reply a few days later with your order number and then you just collect and pay for it anytime during the day. This means you do not have to carry big bags of model kits around all day and you do not have to wait for us to pick your order!
Salute! 2007 - Saturday April 21st @ ExCel, London
Less than one week later Forge World will be at Salute! 2007 which is back at the excellent ExCel venue. I love how easy it is to wander around one huge hall, stuffed to the roof with models, kits, games and all the paraphernalia that goes along with our hobby!
Now at Salute! 2007, the Forge World sales stand isn't as huge as some we use, and so we cannot bring absolutely everything with us. As a result, if you want to be certain of getting the Forge World models you want at Salute! 2007 I strongly recommend placing a reservation order. Just send an email titled 'Salute! 2007' to
[email protected] telling us your name and a list of what you want to order. We shall reply a few days later with your order number and then you just collect and pay for it during the day.
