I have a little information for you on a new 40k Faction. Ive seen artwork of two soldiers in heavy but clunky grey body armour and helm, with one wielding an odd looking plasma pistol of sorts. The most striking thing about the image, with smoke and laser fire in the background, is the draping of the red cloth beneath the shoulder plating, and a symbol of the Adeptus Mechanicus on the main figures chest. All I will add right now is the book is 85pgs with datasheets and formations.

The new faction is in fact Ad Mech, Skitarii. As far as I know this is still a ways out, but who knows. There is only troops and elites, with vehicles. Mostly foot soldiers, guys with spider legs, and a couple tank/spider hybrids.

There is also a Dragoon which looks to be a dual kit with a rider on top of a bipedal machine. It has legs similar to the IG sentinels, but has a grafted human in the center of the machine. I am not as fluent in the background with the skitarii as I would like to comment much more.

the plasma pistol described in your previous article is not an odd looking plasma pistol. its an arc pistol. arc weapons will be available for the skitarii in both pistol and rifle. the arc rifle is rapid fire with haywire. rifle and pistol both are s6 ap5.

a heavy choice walker called a Onager Dunewalker will be part of the skitarii. they are an armor 12 walker that comes with overlapping forcefields that give an invulnerable save. each additional walker in the squad increases the save by 1. they come with a conversion beamer type weapon that is more powerful up close and disperses to a large but weaker blast at longer range. squadrons up to 3.

here are some rules for some of the guns for the ad mech. I dont recall seeing much more.
Cognis Weapons are normal weapons with the Cognis attached to it, like Cognis Lascannon. They simply use a BS 2 when firing snap shots because of an awakened machine spirit.
Burst Pistol rules allow for 5 shots to be fired instead of just a single one.
Galvanic Rifle looks like an ornate flintlock rifle with a canister on the side. R30", rapid fire, S4.

Und Faeit, dem man hier ruhig auf die Schulter klopfen darf, da er im Dezember gute Infos postete, hat noch etwas mehr aus dem nächsten White Dwarf:

I've seen images from White Dwarf, one showing a 4 legged walker painted in red, with a admech soldier on top with a heavy stubber. There was a second image of an admech robbed infantry holding a rifle, but was rather small and blurry. Both images were shown on an internet chat group. Sorry I dont have more right now.

Here is a look at your Onager Dunecrawler.
Comes with an Eradication Beamer, Broad Spectrum Data-Tether, Enamatus Force Field, and searchlight. One special rule called Doctrina Imperatives.


Its a crawler, and therefore is never slowed by difficult terrain and auto passes dangerous terrain tests. It can't run.

The Skitarii and the Horus Heresy Mechanicum represent similar forces but from two very different eras and so are not specifically designed to be used together in rules terms. However, if you want to have use them as Allies for each other, perhaps to represent different branches of the Adeptus Mechanicus/Mechanicum working together, and your gaming group are happy for you to do this then please fell free. You may need to come up with your own house rules to represent this though.

The new Adeptus Mechanicus models from Games Workshop represent the legacy left over from the old Mechanicum of Mars from the Horus Heresy era. Although some elements of each army are common between them, they are very much separate forces. But if you want to mix the models from each range together to represent units from the two types of army list then please do.

Cult Mechanicus is coming. Their troops will be the Electro-priests that everyone has been raving about for weeks. From the looks of it, we’ll also finally see the Imperial robots that compliment Forge World’s existing range, and other all new exotic units

Electro-Priests are not troops like earlier rumors were saying today, instead both Electro-Priests units are Elites. Its a dual kit with Fulgurite Electro-Priests and Corpuscarii Electro-Priests. Energy Fields give both units a 5++.
Fulgurites have staves with enhanced strength and can get a 3++ for the rest of the game if they wipe out a unit in close combat.
Corpuscariis have gauntlets that are assault weapons shooting with a 12″ range, and can also be used in close combat.
Both weapons have other abilities as well that fit with the Electro-Priests. They can be taken groups of up to 20.

Cult Mechanicus codex is coming, but I do not have a release date. What I do know is that it is 80pgs long, and is not a full codex like SM, Eldar, etc. Instead its similar in size and unit count to the Skitarii codex. and no, the Skitarii and Forgeworld Mechanicus are not part of this codex. Their allies are same as the armies of the imperium.

There will be a new combo kit for the Cult Mechanicus that contains their core unit the Elctro-Priest. One version features large double handed glaives similar to the old model from the 1990’s and the other is armed with archaic looking wrist mounted shooting weapons. Both versions feature robed legs, and torsos with exposed fleshy chests that contain the bio-electrical details that they are known for.
Their heads are both bare, and some are blindfolded as well. The close combat versions are wreathed in cog plate, and the shooting variant (with the wrist mounted weapons) have yet more archaic equipment grafted into their backs and heads.
They both share the same robed legs which look similar to the zealots of olde, and are topped with a very American wrestling championship styled belt crowned with a large Mechanicus cog. Their bases are smaller than 40mm.

“The Second combo kit for the new Mechanicus will feature tracked conveyor infantry models who resemble cybernetic terminators cut at the waist and attached to set of small triangle treads.

One unit type will be heavily armored, and decked out for close quarters engagements.
The second is less armored, and features two types of cannon; a plasma cannon varainat, and a larger calibre weapon.

They are on 50mm bases."

The HQ unit for the New Cult Mechanicus is called a Tech Priest Dominus. This is a larger character model that is similar to the Forge World Magos models, except it is done in plastic. He is similar yet different that a Magos, robed and slightly hunched over from the arcane mechanisms mounted on his back. There are two head options one is crowned with a strange almost papal hat and the other with the normal hooded mechanicus garb.

There are servo arms that stabilize the figure to the ground and do not have free motion. He walks with an immense staff that is a much larger and more ornate version of a Tech Prist’s weapon, and also sports a cane.

The model has multiple spidery legs concealed under his robe, and is on a 40mm base.

I was just told that there is a new Giant Robot for Cult Mechanicus in the Heavy Support slot
You get 2 giant robots and one Datasmith as a squad. The robots stand twice the ht of a space marine and are MCs. If I remember correctly you can add additional robots, it was 2 or 3. The Datasmith is a character that controls them.
