April 1947. When the Blutkreuz Korps unearthed records of an ancient alien energy source hidden in Mesopotamia, they started working on plans to recover it. Now their plans are coming to fruition.
Operation Babylon thrusts Rommel, The Desert Fox, and his Neue Deutches Afrikakorps (NDAK), the New German Africa Corps, into the cradle of civilisation in central Iraq. Their mission is to secure the region around the ancient city of Babylon so that Blutkreuz Korps archaeologists and scientists can unearth the alien power source.
To do so, they must defeat the elite 4th Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps. Unaware of the true reason for the Axis invasion and still recovering from their ordeal in the battle for Zverograd, the Marines nonetheless react quickly and forcefully, attacking NDAK forces wherever they are found.
Meanwhile, the Spetsnaz special forces of the Sino-Soviet Union (SSU) raid both sides, intent on setting the region ablaze. Once they learn of the Axis plans, they join the race to locate and control the alien power source.

Adding to the military difficulty of penetrating deep into Allied-held territory, the Blutkreuz scientists must race against rogue agents of the defunct Ahnenerbe, the sinister Nazi occult organization.
One of the most famous military formations on the planet, the Neue Deutsches Afrikakorps (NDAK) holds together vast territories under Axis control. Fighting on numerous fronts, in very different environments, the NDAK is well known for its tenacity and unconventional tactics. These are its trademarks, made famous by the first commander of the unit: Erwin Rommel.

After the surrender of the remnants of the original Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) in May 1943 to Allied troops in Tunisia, the few soldiers and officers who managed to escape swore to return to Africa one day. Their wish came true in September 1946, and now they are there for good.

The Spetsnaz task forces make up the main SSU forces in Mesopotamia. Operating from the relative safety of the secret hideouts, the Spetsnaz launch pinpoint raids against Axis and Allied forces, destroying or capturing materiel, gathering intelligence and increasing tension between the two rival blocs. Their light equipment allows them to strike quickly, then disappear back into the desert from whence they came. Their light tropical walkers are ideally suited for these raiding operations, being fast and easy to maintain.
As tensions escalate, so does the size of the SSU commitment to the region. Before long, the Spetsnaz are able to call on the full force of the SSU's military might, including heavy armored support.

While in theory the Allied Bloc has eliminated the concept of national armed forces, combining all of the member countries’ armies into a grand Allied Army, the Allied commanders still recognize the value of traditions and esprit de corps. One day perhaps the Royal Marines and the US Marine Corps will be combined into a new Allied Marine Corps, but until then, the US Marine Corps remains.
Veterans of Zverograd, the 4th Marine Division finds itself in the front line again as the Blutkreuz forces launch Operation Babylon on 27 April. Despite being organised for amphibious assaults rather than desert warfare, the 'can-do' attitude of the Marines, combined with requisitioning every vehicle and piece of equipment they can get their hands on, has recreated the 4th Marine Division as a formidable motorized division in record time.

The aim of the Blutkreuz Korps is to capture a temporary foothold while their scientists probe the ruins of ancient Babylon in a desperate needle-in-a-haystack search for a rumored alien energy source even more powerful than Vrill-Kultur (VK).
