[h=1]About the Project.[/h] As an avid game designing enthusiast, food pun lover and vegan-curious myself I created "Soy What?!" in the beginning of 2019. After rigorously testing and refining the game with friends and family I decided to take it to next level, involve game reviewers around the world and send them a copy of the game. Their feedback also was overwhelmingly positive and it helped me to take the next step which is to crowd fund & publish the game via Kickstarter.
Someone recently called the game a "a soft satire on the impact of veganism on traditional (meat-eating) culture".
I would only add that "Soy What?!" is a unique combination of timely themes, fun gameplay with a sweet coating.
Let's make this game happen!
[h=1]The Game.[/h] Soy What?! is a sweet and fun card game that plays vegans and meat eaters in a spicy battle for the best meals. It typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes and can be played by 2 - 6 Players.
[h=1]What’s in the Box?[/h] In the full Soy What?! Deck version you’ll find 110 beautifully designed cards. The high quality card decks are manufactured in Germany and shipped from Hamburg all over the world.
What's in the box
The 110 Card deck consists of five different card categories:
[h=1]Food cards[/h] All food cards include a sweet food graphic and a unique food pun. The coloring indicates whether it is a vegan, neutral or a meat eater card. The number indicates the points you’ll get if you can collect it.
[h=1]Role cards[/h] Role cards are dealt in the beginning of the game and they should be kept as a secret.
[h=1]Allergy cards[/h] You also get an allergy card with your role card. Don't let anybody know which foods you can't eat.
[h=1]Action cards[/h] These cards really can turn the game in your favor. Play them wisely.
[h=1]Rule cards[/h] These cards cannot be played and are intended to convey the rules of the game briefly and concisely.
Full Deck of 110 cards consists of:

- 5 allergy cards
- 4 morality cards
- 4 fortune & misfortune cookie cards

[h=1]Rules[/h] Goal:
The goal of the game is to collect the most food points and not get food poisoning.
Setup:
Each player gets a secret role (vegan or meat eater) and a food allergy card. Additionally every player gets 5 playing cards.
All other playing cards are stacked in the deck which is placed in the middle. Then the game starts clockwise.
Gameplay:
During the game, players place food cards on the playing field and after that always take a card from the deck.
The points on each card count for either vegans or meat eaters - some cards always count. If certain criteria are met, the active player can or must take all cards placed. These cards then count as one meal.
A player can only have three meals. If he obtains a fourth, his first meal must be taken out of the game.
End of the Game:
The game ends after the deck is empty and the last meal is played out. Then players reveal their roles and allergies. The player with the most points collected for his/her role wins.
If one of the collected food cards contains an allergy that the player has - the player is out.
