Vau fleet für A Call to Arms: Noble Armada - Gerenderte Preview Bilder

The Vuldrok have made their appearence - now it is time to preview the next fleet... the utterly alien Vau.
These ships play very differently to others in the A Call to Arms: Noble Armada universe, reflecting their high technology and unusual method of powering their ships.
Each harnesses the energy of a quantum sphere which is carried in the ships' 'claws' and the Vau can use this to bolster specific aspects of their vessels. Instead of using a Special Action, a Vau ship can boost its movement, defences or weaponry. For example, if boosting movement, the ship's Speed is doubled for the turn or, alternatively, the entire ship can be 'teleported' a short distance to really put your enemy off balance!
Though each ship only has one meson blast weapon system, it is extremnely powerful, with the toughest sporting Accurate, Devastating +1 and Multihit 3D6 - and that is before the quantum sphere boosts it!

Seeker Explorer

Three ships make up the current Vau fleet. First, the small but lethal Seeker Explorer

Sentinel Frigate

The most common ship seen in Vau space is the Sentinel Frigate. This ship has a longer reach than the Seeker, is a little slower but can withstand a lot more damage. It also has the Command trait, increasing the Vau's already superb Initiative.

Strider Destoyer

Finally, the Strider Destroyer, a real bruiser of a ship. Why is this the largest ship the Vau currently have? Well, once you see what this bad boy can do, you'll be in fear of your dreadnoughts! With toughened defences and a thoroughly nasty meson blast, there are few ships it cannot deal with.

We are happy to announce that the first waves of A Call to Arms: Star Fleet are now not only available via mail order but, from this week on, will also be in your local stores! This includes;

A Call to Arms: Star Fleet Core Rulebook
Federation Fleet Set

The official street date is Friday 20th, but we have heard some stores have already received their stock.
The Romulan Fleet and Squadron sets will appear in stores mid-May, and the rest of the range (including new squadron sets and the Kzinti fleet) will be hot on their heels!

Tournaments are already starting to spring up, with the first taking place at Mongoose HQ in the UK on April 28th, and another at Games Expo in Birmingham on May 26th.

A Call to Arms: Star Fleet is the new game of space combat produced in conjunction with Amarillo Design Bureau. Featuring the core rules set from the Origins Award-winning A Call to Arms: Babylon 5 with an all new range of metal and resin ships, A Call to Arms: Star Fleet offers fast a furious action with the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and the other empires of the galaxy.

This product is being done as a joint venture with Amarillo Design Bureau, inc., under the strict terms of their contract with Paramount Pictures Corporation.

Für das gemeinsame Projekt A Call to Arms: Star Fleet von Mongoose Publishing und Amarillo Design Bureau wurde jetzt ein neuer Referenzbogen als Spielhilfe hochgeladen. Er enthält einige kleinere Korrekturen gegenüber dem bisher verfügbaren.

Hier kann man ihn herunterladen.

Keine wirkliche Neuigkeit jedoch trotzdem eine interessante Entwicklung ist eine Veränderung des verwendeten Gussmaterials bei den ACtA:SF-Raumschiffen. Wurden bei der Veröffentlichung alle aus Resin gefertigt, so ist man inzwischen dazu übergegangen, die meisten Modelle wieder aus Zinn zu gießen. Lediglich die Dreadnoughts einiger Fraktionen bestehen aus Gewichtsgründen vollständig oder teilweise aus Resin.
