Between Karak -A-Karak and Karak Drin, to the West of Zhufbar, lies the mountain peak of Karak-Ak-Drakkin, home to a proud, and very rich, family of dwarfs. Legend says that the foundation of its wealth lies in the fact that a dragon bequeathed its riches to the first king and founder of Karak-Ak-Drakkin, Dagobert Dragonheir.

However, being close to the Darklands, Karak-Ak-Drakkin is under almost constant attack. After one of these, an ambush on a caravan of the finest Bugman XXXX, cost the life of one of the king's nephews (not to mention several casks of ale), Dagobert III. decided that this could no longer be tolerated. He send for the finest and most ingenuous engineer in all the Dwarven kingdoms, Malakai Makaisson. "Go forth", Dagobert said, "and build me the finest and most powerful warmachine ever to be constructed by a dwarf. Spare no expense. Whatever gold, or ale, you need, it shall be yours." Malakai nodded, rolled out the designs for his masterwork, a truly unstoppable machine that was sure to turn the tide of war and make the race of the Dawi strong again, and named his price.

A few days later, he returned with the plans for a different, considerably cheaper, warmachine – basically a heavy suit of steampowered armour, or, as he called it, the Brilliantly And Truly Terrific Landbased Empowered Mechanically Enhanced Combat Hewer. Dagobert III heard the name and, as he is quoted, said: "Ah, mobile battle-armour. Nice."

It took Malakai three long months to construct the first prototype of the suits. Especially the design for the small, yet incredibly powerful steam-generator turned out to be extremely difficult, and the first test-runs were rather less than successful. The king, deeply concerned about the amounts of gold and iron used for the project, was about to put a stop to it, when, during another field-test, a small army of Grobi suddenly attacked the only slightly defended project-area. While the king's small detachment of bodyguards prepared to defend their lord with their lives, Malakai finished prepping the three suits of battle-armour he had constructed so far. They started up, and, piloted by their brave (and quite drunk) testers, went right into the small army of Grobi. About fifteen minutes later, nothing remained of the 1000 or so Greenskins.

Following this success, the king decided to let Malakai finish the project and initiated the construction of several more of the wondrous suits – only slightly wincing when considering their cost.

Rules:
Dwarfish Battlearmour Points/model:80

Basically, the whole suit consists of massive plates of Gromril, making the pilot almost invulnerable. Unfortuantely, however, it was not possible to also armour the hydraulics of the suit without overburdening the steam-engine which keeps it moving. This means, that, despite its massive full-plate armour, the whole construction is actually rather vulnerable. Another problem that Malakai is hoping to solve soon consists in the fact that only one of the weapon systems of the suit may be used at a time right now, since the engine can only power one or the other. Switching between the two of them is still a major operation that cannot be undertaken in the middle of a battle.

Unit size: 1+

Weapon & Armour: basic weaponry & light armour

Options: by adding additional plating and hoping for the best, Malakai can increase the armour of heavy armour for +4 points/model.
Before the start of the battle, each pilot can whether to use the Powerful Pyroenhanced Claw or Malaikai's Patented Circulatory Axe Accelerator. Each of these costs an additional 6 points to use, the former counts as a Great Weapon, the latter bestows +1 WS and +1 I to its user and is Armour piercing. As a third choice, the pilot can use the suit's built-in pair of Makaisson's Self-Reloading Muskets (2) (which have the following profile: Range 24", S4, Pistol, Armour piercing, Multiple Shots:2. If fired for the first time in a battle, D6 inches may be added to the range since the level of steampower behind them has been raised to the breaking point).
A unit of several suits of Battlearmour can have a mixture of these weapons, as each pilot can choose his personal preference.

Special Rules:
REAAAALLY Expensive: Dwarfish Battlearmour is hideosuly expensive, therefore it counts as a Rare Choice.

Big, Loud, Heavy Suit of Metal: Sitting in about 5 tons of pure Gromril has a rather exhilarating effect on the typically already slightly inebriated pilot. There are very few things that can make them worry, apart, maybe from the idea that their ale might run out. On the other hand, seeing aforementioned five tons of metal bearing down on ones lines can be somewhat sobering to the enemy. Dwarfish Battlearmour causes Fear in its enemies and render their pilots basically Immune to Psychology. In addition, when first crashing into the enemy's lines after having had a charge range of at least 6", a unit of three or more suits causes one automatic hit per suit in direct contact with the enemy. If there is only one rank of suits in the unit, these hits have S5, if there are several ranks, each suit behind one in the first rank that caused a hit increases the strength of this hit by +1.

Hard to control: While being surprisingly easy to use, the suits still have more than a few quirks in their system. It is therefore rather difficult to control them, especially in the heat of battle. The pilots of the suits therefore have no choice but to be Stubborn in combat, however, they cannot live out their hatred against the Grobi as they might like to and therefore cannot make use of the Ancestral Grudge rule.
