Demonhunter MOD

Ave

With Compiler's permission, I've created an unofficial addon to integrate the Daemonhunters into the Dark Crusade campaign. This isn't a new campaign, and it doesn't completely replace any of the original races. Instead, it makes Inquisitorial forces available as allies of the Space Marines.

This addon is self-contained, so you can add and remove it cleanly without affecting your installation of Inquisition: Daemonhunt.

The readme file with additional details can be found here. The addon can be downloaded from here(453 KB). Note that Inquisition: Daemonhunt must be installed in order for this to be used.

Feedback is appreciated, especially since this is the first version. I hope you guys enjoy it.[/b]

Aus dem Readme:
I. Overview

This addon to Compiler's Inquisition Daemonhunt mod is designed to integrate Daemonhunter forces into the existing campaign for Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. Rather than replacing any of the existing armies, the Daemonhunters act as allies of the Blood Ravens. Normal Space Marine units are still used for base building and as defensive reinforcements. The Daemonhunters act as an honor guard, and they may also be encountered as special units during certain missions. In addition, Daemonhunter forces may come to the aid of the Blood Ravens if their stronghold comes under attack.

This addon does not affect anything outside of the campaign, and it is self-contained. It can be deactivated or uninstalled without affecting Inquisition: Daemonhunt or Dark Crusade itself.

II. Story

Shortly before the arrival of the Blood Ravens on Kronus, the Ordo Malleus began to receive reports of a large Chaos cult growing on the planet. There were rumors of Chaos Space Marines and powerful daemons performing dark rituals in the southern regions. Due to the appearant strength of the heretic forces, and the importance of various Imperial relics on Kronus, the Inquisition dispatched troops to cleanse the planet.

However, rather than going in unsupported, the Lord Inquisitor in charge of reclaiming Kronus enlisted the Space Marines that were planning to retrieve some of their own artifacts from that world. For their part, the Blood Ravens were more than willing to accept some Inquisitorial oversight in exchange for the aid of the Ordo Malleus and their elite Grey Knights.

Although the Inquisitorial forces were primarily concerned with purging the armies of Chaos, they were also intent on securing and purifying Imperial relics scattered around the planet. As part of the cleansing, the Inquisitor would also investigate the local Guard and PDF forces for any possible Chaos influences, and conduct any necessary purges among their ranks. Finally, some vague reports had surfaced that the Eldar xenos had summoned a daemon of their own. The Inquisitor vowed to investigate it as well, and to purge the xenos in the Emperor's name.

III. Installation and Removal

The Inquisition: Daemonhunt mod must be installed in order to use this addon. The mod is only available as a seperate download. You can download it from DOW Files here:
http://dawnofwar.filefront.com/file/Inquis...nhunt_Mod;80262

To install, unzip the contents of UnofficialDaemonhuntCampaign.zip into the Dawn of War - Dark Crusade directory. You may then activate 'Daemonhunt Campaign' in the mod manager.

To uninstall, delete the Inq_dh_campaign folder and inq_daemonhunt_campaign_DC.module. The main Inquisition: Daemonhunt mod will be unaffected.

IV. Gameplay Changes

This unofficial addon replaces the Honor Guard units of the Space Marines with Daemonhunter units. Honor Guard units available in the campaign include Inquisitorial Stormtroopers, Grey Knights, a Death Cult Assassin, an Inquisitor Lord, and others. Inquisition forces may appear at other times as well, for certain scripted missions.

No changes have been made to the Space Marines or to the Daemonhunters outside of the campaign. The units that can be built during missions and defensive reinforcements are also unchanged.[/b]
