Ok some info now that I've spent some time reading the WD (major issues with some pictures inside btw, that are totally messed up like a low quality jpeg that is zoomed to the point it's just a blurry mess of pixels):
- First pic inside the magazine will show you Kroots and Hounds in the new army colors fighting alongside the new suits. So they're still here.
- The head of the suit is at the same level as the top of the hull of a Gorkanaut. They are the same size of vehicles, thought the Gorkanaut look more voluminous thanks to being "boxy".
- It's a very very detailed model IMO, tons of parts can be built closed or open (reactor, cooling systems, stabilizing rods behind the legs, weapons parts) and it is no doubt a step further than a Riptide in term of sculpting quality. It also includes regular systems bits like multitrackers and co. Don't misunderstand me thought, the kit here is 120€ so 10 more € than an old Imperial Knight and just below the price of the other massive superheavy vehicles. So no matter what I say I have no way to justify its price.
- You can cut some plastics parts on the legs to build the suit standing (I think the Riptide was like that too), I'm clueless as to why no official model was painted in such a position since it makes the suit looks bigger...
- Much to my surprise it's an open topped vehicle. You see the armored part in front of its head? It's actually protecting an open topped cockpit with two pilots inside. I've seen no option to cover it which I personally hate. I find the concept stupid (catapults and other stone throwers must be the bane of that suit... also the main weapon cooling system basically ejects overheated air two meter away from the pilot head :/) but more importantly from a modelling perspective I don't want visible pilots on my suits. At that price I would have expected at least one cockpit option, maybe I missed it.
- Secondary weapon systems (flamers and co) are designed with the plastic pegs that allows them to be used on Crisis models.
