I played my first game against orcs. My friend fielded one unit of savage orcs, 1 unit of big uns, 2 units boys, 2 orc chariots, 8 boar riders and one unit of gobbos.
The deployment was a following:

Chariot--Gobbos------Boys--Savage Orcs--Big Uns--Boys--------Chariot--Boar Riders
----------------------------------------------------------------------Forest------------------------

------------------------------Hierophant-------LP---------------------LP on steed-----------
----------------------------------------------------------------2 SSCs on hill-----------------
Turn 1
-The orcs went forward, the boar riders failed animosity. The scorpion has to arrive quick. wink.gif Brain Bursta destroyed one chariot.
-The Carrion got behind the forest and the orc line with urgency. The skulls went in the middle of nowhere. The Hierophant flew to the tower. The chariots behind the tower.
Turn 2
-Orcs rushed to my line too quick although their one flank was slowed down by the carrion. They lost 3 wounds to magic but the shaman was in sight. ^^
-Time to get into the fray. TS didn`t arrive. The chariots drove past the tower and faced the gobbos and the chariot. The cavalry charged the chariot (fear test against 7 passed sad.gif ) One wound and only one lost cavalry man and I would autobreak him. The carrion charged the shaman. With urgency the chariots charged the gobbos.
Shooting was as bad as in turn one, those skulls seemed to be very vulnerable to the wind....
As expected the chariots scythed through the goblins but couldn`t get them on pursue. The orc chariot fled off the table. The goblin shaman and the orcs stayed which should be decisive situation of the game. The chariots pursued into the goblin shaman and exposed their flank to the boys..... Carrion broke shaman and pursued. Shaman dead, carrion flanked savage orcs. That was not a good deal. The cavalry splintered against the chariot. What the hell..... The orc chariot was now free to charge the lich priest on steed. Oh no....
Turn 3
-This orcs are disciplined, no animosity this turn and some very painful charges: the Orc boys flanked the chariots and the orc chariot declared charge on the lich priest but failed his fear test. Puh.....
The chariots crumbled under the impact of 25 orcs in their flanks and lost one another to the CR. The carrion became a bunch of feathers and bone as the Orc Warlord cleaved through them. This boar riders are very close now. Too close...
-Some repositioning of the priest and the king in the chariot unit moved into contact with the orcs. Nothing spectacular here. Shot some boar riders and the screaming skulls panicked the other boy regiment. Archers nailed some savage orcs.
Thanks to Spear of Antarhak the chariot unit holds out against the orcs. Needless to say that I failed to wound this goblin shaman until now....
Turn 4
-Next turn the orcs will charge with nearly all their units. I had to do something.
Chariots hold out furthermore.
-The charges in turn 2 weren`t good, so I took a second try. The skellies and ushabtis moved near to the big uns and with urcency the skellies charged. Ok so far. Now the Ushabtis. Damn ! Half of a inch missing. Oh no.... Now they stood totally exposing their flanks to the other orc unit. Ah, the other orc unit. It regrouped this turn and where did my scorpion scatter ? Yes, into the orc unit... Crumble, crumble....
Turn 5
-Now everything get worse than it was before. Boar riders charged the first SSC, orc boys the flank of the Ushabtis, the Tomb King died, but his curse took the goblin shaman with him. At last.... Skeletons crumbled because the big uns used their banner of butchery. Now, all my units except the archers and the lich priests were doomed (the boars would pursue into the next SSC).
All I had to do now was a little bit limitation of damage.
Summary: The game were lost by some few bad rolls and two situations where one inch was decisive. If the goblin shaman was standing out of way, my chariots would have been in the rear of the orc army and would have wreaked havoc where I would have chosen. If the Ushabtis had completed their charge into the flank of the big uns, I would have destroyed the center of the orc army. A little bit more luck with the scorpion and the catapults and this easily would have turned out in a victory.
I think I switch the Crown (didn`t make any difference) with the Scorpion Armour. The archers shot down many orcs (against T4 !)
What do you think about my first game (and massacre) with the Tomb Kings of Khemri ?
