Eldar:

Well what can i say other than a thoroughly enjoyable weekend Despite a 400+ mile round trip, the joys of the UK rail system, staying up for 36 hours straight getting my army to a gameable level (least i wasnt still painting in bugmans on saturday morning unlike one unlucky guardsman) & despite the fact that the event organiser getting the answer to one of the questions in the pub quiz wrong, (Ahriman appearing in the Space Wolf novels?????? The sorcerors name was MADDOK........MADDOK I TELL YOU bah!). Many games played, some won, some drawn and lets not go into the losses right now shall we (next time we face Masked Thespian those two damned berzerkers wont be shooting down any land speeders, they'll be too busy eating assault cannon rounds damn their eyes!).
As events go it was one of the more fast paced ones i've attended and the first days gaming did seem a bit unorganised (grats to Strike Force Spiky's team Captain Guy who sorted out all the problems we had with missions and such). But true to form things picked up and got more organised as things went on. I think a good time was had by all and a few new friends were made by several people i know.
Now on to the good stuff...........
Having friends in high places in the design studio is a wonderous thing, meeting new friends with friends in the design studio who is even better. Knowing the GW thought police and the evil SIX month rule this thread will probably be killed as soon as they see it but after a litte recon trip into the studio we have a couple of nice new toys on the horizon.
Next year there will be another 40k online campaign called "Cities of Death" to tie in with the new city fight book. How does this relate to power armour i hear u ask well it applies thusly. For those lovers of Slaanesh on the forum there is finally a miniature of LUSCIUS THE ETERNAL and what a miniature. If you want a hint at what he looks like just turn to your chaos codex its EXACTLY THE SAME as the artwork. Seriously people this miniature will be on everyones shopping lists! Perfect down to the last little detail and beleive me its packed with the stuff (many a golden daemon entry with this one!)
Next up we have another chaos miniature in the shape of a rather large and extremely disgusting (in a lovley father nurgle type way) NURGLE DAEMON PRINCE WITH DAEMONIC STATURE. This thing is HUUUUUUGE and almost revolting to look at (again in a lovley father nurgle type way!). Armed with a rather large plague sword this miniature has made me dust off my old death guard and start praying to grandpappy nurgle all over again.
Lastly on the power armour side of things we have........PLASTIC SCOUTS WITH SNIPER RIFLES......yes i couldnt believe it either but they exist and they include enough componets to make 4 scouts and 1 sarge. Nothing needs to be said about this they speak forthemselves. (Much better than the Johnny Bravo alikes we currently have in the plastic scout department!).
Well thats all the power armour related stuff that i can tell you about. There was plenty of other stuff but that involves pointy eared bolter fodder types, some rather russian looking, flashlight wielding imperial bullet catchers and a lot of wierd stuff that involves magic and something called Orcs & Goblins???????
Congrats to my long time gaming buddy Lee for his Loxatl which stole the show and got him a white dwarf interview no less and my thanks to the other members of team spikey who made my event so much fun (we'll get em next time boys!)[/b]

Well seeing as you guys discovered my thread on B&C i dont see any point in telling you much more about the power armour stuff other than YES there is a model of lucius the eternal, Yes there is a new Daemon Prince of Nurgle (when i said huge and slimy i meant it) and yes there will be plastic scouts with sniper rifles.
Right now onto the stuff i couldnt mention on B&C......
First up 40k
ELDAR:
The eldar codex is written and is about to go into production ie typsetting, and pre production. All the new mini's have been done and they are all absolutley stunning. As my esteemed collegue De'Sade mentioned in the old thread (for those who cared to notice) Eldar have a new HQ choice in the form of an Autarch, a warrior who has trodden the path of every aspect but has not succumbed to the curse or Exarchdom (if thats even a word). He can use different equipment from different aspects for example have a swooping hawk jump pack and grenade harness along with a reaper launcher or banshee mask As for minatures theres will be a plastic Wraitlord and War walker kit. The Wraith lord is slightly smaller than its predecessor but more in proportion physically. The War Walker has a funky clear plastic canopy that is even more detailed than the one that comes in with the immolator. A new Dark Reaper exarch was mentioned also.
ORKS:
A preproduction look at the new orky "DIY" vehicle sprue was glimpsed but nothing physical. And a plastic Kommando regiment that can only be described as "as detailed as a Kill Team". Other than that nothing yet.
IMPERIAL GUARD:
The Volostian guard regiment, think Tzarist russians with lasguns. They look a little like Valhallans and could be used as them at a push. Think Furry hats, great coats and long droopy moustaches and you wont go far wrong. As for the medium (metal/plastic i cant tell). Planned releas with the City of the Dead book.
TAU:
The Tau most of us have seen already however special mention to the new Ethereals and the Ethereal on the floating diasis must be mentioned. Vast improvements on the old models much more regal looking.
As for the Codex releases there will be no more marine dexes until 2007 however i do know which chapter is next......but i cant tell you or even i'll end up in the brown stuff.
Now onto Fantasy:
As you may all have guessed by now 2006 will see Fantasy Version 7 (Come on GW it wasnt hard to work out the timescale between versions by now was it). As for changes it will be as we all guessed a revised version rather than a re write much like 40k was. What can i tell you about the new rules? Nothing, sworn to secrecy i am (plus i dont want to infringe on intelectual property) but i can say that if you look at a recent white dwarf battle report you see hints in deployment of the wood elf units.
DWARVES:
Again like the Tau nothing new here except some juicy new stunties.
ORCS AND GOBLINS:
Well if you hadn't worked out which army was being revamped next by the fact that there is a new version of fantasy on the horizon and a new plastic giant then you need to be more observant. What you won't know about is the new plastic goblin spider rider miniatures (not for the arachnophobic) and the new plastic stone trolls (which arent that hot). Expect a Xmas 2006 release for these boyz.
Right well thats all i can remember for now and im still tired so anyhting else can wait for another day.
Peace out peeps.

I too was at Sabbat and spent a little while chatting with a few chaps. I have heard this as well, but not actually seen either. The snipers are supposed to be facially less 'GI Joe' looking than the current plastic scouts.
To clarify, I have seen design sketches of most of the new aspect warriors. Almost all of them are being re-done (including the Banshees and Reapers). The new reapers are getting their helmet vanes back again and the new Banshees are being sculpted by Diaz. Wraithlord, Warwalker and Dire Avengers are plastic. Most aspect warriors are gaining an extra piece of 'kit' to their wargear. The Avatar is now a special character but will be featured at the begining of the codex rather than stuck at the end after the painting section like most special characters have nbeen in codexes previously. The idea is to emphisise that special characters are a legitimate army choice rather than being something only rarely taken. From what I recall, the only models remaining untouched are the plastic guardians, vyper, falcon and the waveserpent
No sign of Orks for 2006. Although the stuff for Cities of Death/Medusa V looks great.
The new guard are supposed to be a metals box (a la Steel Legion).
But I won't [be in the shit for revealing information]. It's Dark Angels and prep work on the minis has begun.[/b]
