My god! I`m so excited for this game. The final rules are almost finished and the games release is planned for early next year – possibly at the Weekender. The reason this is being released faster than BB is because it will only be sold through the FW store and so they don`t have to wait for the Aussies. The game revolves around the use of a maniple (5) titans that may be of either one class or a mix of classes. The first release of the game will concentrate on Warlords, Reavers and Warhounds together with Knights. New Titans classes will be released in the future… The final scale is 8mm and the models are all designed. Apparently everyone who has seen them has said they want them. The game is set in the later Heresy during an existing canon Titan battle that is previewed on the timeline as the “Titan Death”.
The rules revolve around control of your reactor and balancing your reactor against the need for shields, movement, weapons. You can super-charge your reactor but there is a risk that something may go wrong – there are to be special reactor dice to represent this. Also, if you push your titan too hard, the Machine-Spirit may take control but to get the best out of your titan you need to let your machine-spirit have some free will. This is a game of fine balances! Hit location dice are used in the combat phase. Currently, rules for infantry and tanks will not be included but have been written for possible future release.
Rules for knights are included (the models are around the size of a marine). Interestingly, the are not broken down by type but by pattern. So you can field either a Questoris or Cerastus pattern but it doesn`t matter if it is a Warden, Lancer or whatever. The new big knight pattern is included as well.
Scenary will include new plastic modular buildings that are designed to be put one on top of another to form larger buildings. The basis is similar to the Cities of Death modular buildings and so will / can take any form you can build.
The starter set will include: rules, background book, hit location and reactor dice, templates etc but no models. The models are all being cast in resin and will be purchases separately.
Long term plans are expansion packs that may include Tallarn to include rules for vehicles.
