Hawk Wargames haben für ihr neues Projekt im Dropzone Commander Universum den Weg über Kickstarter gewählt... und die 40.000 GBP in grade mal 15 min. geknackt. mittlerweile bewegt sich die Summe stramm auf 100K zu und ein Ende ist nicht in Sicht.

Dear Dropfleet backers,
Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you for all of your support. We are very proud of Dropfleet commander as a product and we always had high hopes of exceeding our pledge target, but none of us expected the explosive level of pledging that we have experienced.

Planning out the stretch goals for a Kickstarter involves a certain amount of educated guess work and flexibility. Although we have planned a series of stretch goals, including the unlocking of both Shaltari and PHR factions, we had expected the unlock process to much more gradual. This was to ensure that we didn’t promise too much and be unable to deliver, or indeed over-promise and then be unable to hit our original goal because of huge amounts of extras to delivered. As a result it will take a little more time to calibrate full range of stretch goals in order to ensure the we don’t exhaust them too soon and also to make sure that the rewards reflect the level of support that the community has shown.

We have mapped out the stretch goals up to the £150K mark and will be reviewing the next series of unlocks tomorrow (The PHR will be among them, and give the levels of support we’ve had so far, almost certain to be unlocked). Hawk Wargames are a small but dedicated team, and we appreciate your patience as we adjust to meet the demand. You can rest assured that there are plenty of goodies to come and all of our backers will be generously rewarded for their support.

Update Nr.3:
[h=2]Project Update #3 - Thank you again![/h]It’s been a hugely successful start for the campaign, and we’re bowled over by the support and pledges from backers – Thank you again! As a small team, we must admit to being somewhat overwhelmed with some aspects, but we have taken a step back to consider and update you today with more information for the weekend and where we are going forward for the rest of the campaign!
We are releasing our list of stretch goals up to £250,000, which includes the PHR (at £210k). Along with these, we have added a range of Free Rewards at key milestones as it becomes more financially viable. We will also be adding to the Bolt-Ons listed as this Campaign grows. We would like to restate that timely delivery is extremely important to us, and we do not wish to push ourselves beyond what we feel we can deliver on time!
Throughout the campaign so far (and we can’t believe it’s only been just over 24 hours – thanks again!) we have tried to be pragmatic about what is viable, and we are now in sight of the PHR. Originally we had expected to have these unlock in week three of the campaign, so we will not have images of the miniatures until late next week. Dave has been and will be working his hardest to get finalised renders completed asap. However, we have put the faction up as a stretch goal for backers so that they know where they stand, and can back straight away or wait until they see the renders of the models later on in the campaign.
We also want to reiterate that this campaign is for funding the plastic tooling and setup for Dropfleet Commander and beyond for the creation of more Dropfleet products. We want to make it clear to all our amazing backers that all funds generated are going into creating even more cool stuff, in enhancing the gaming experience and for securing an even better future for Dropfleet!
We are reading comments and listening to the backers and community, and hope this lets everyone know where we are and what our current thinking is. More stretch goal information will be posted soon, as well as more pictures and videos, and we thank all our backers again for their patience, understanding, and above all truly wonderful support!

Nun, wie der Mitarbeiter von Hawk Wargames ja in dem Video sagt, befinden sich die Schiffe alle noch im Beta-Stadium und sind noch nicht vollständig ausbalanciert. Da wird sich bis zum Release sicher noch einiges ändern. Persönlich fand ich die Scorge-Schiffe aber auch recht schwach. Die haben weniger Waffenwürfel als die UCM und außerdem weniger Hüllenpunkte und Panzerung. Der Trend, den Hawk gehen will ist aber klar. Die Scourge sollen weniger Waffen haben, diese machen dafür aber mehr Schaden wenn sie treffen sollten - 2 Punkte Schaden statt einem - und einige sollen Panzerung gleich ganz ignorieren. Die UCM setzt dafür auf mehr Waffen, die zwar mehr Würfel haben, dafür aber immer nur einen Punkt Schaden verursachen und abgesehen von Krits alle von der feindlichen Panzerung abgewehrt werden können.

Beruhigt mich, daß ich nicht der einzige bin der das unprofessionell findet.
Dazu spukt noch ein weiterer Gedanke in meinem Hinterkopf rum: Im Starter sind 3 Kreuzer und 4 Fregatten - für die Kreuzer gibt es 8/9, für die Fregatten 5 Varianten sie zusammenzubauen... kann man da mit Magneten arbeiten oder wird das ne riesige Materialschlacht .... ?

Im Moment sind da für meinen Geschmack sehr viele Fragen offen. Mal schauen was da noch passiert.

Jap, ich habe auch mitgemacht und finde es auch sehr befremdlich, dass Hawk Wargames, gerade wo der Kickstarter am Anfang so durch die Decke gegangen ist, am Wochenende kein einziges weiteres Update veröffentlicht hat. Das hätte ich von dem Team und seiner ansonsten sehr guten Öffentlichkeitsarbeit her so auch nicht erwartet.

Na schauen wir mal. Morgen gibt es wohl noch was, aber die "Funkstille" am ersten Wochenende halte ich auch für einen groben Schnitzer.

Da ich selber schon an erfolgreichen KS beteiligt war:

> Nach der gewaltiben Vorarbeit für einen guten KS, sind die ersten Tage die erste Möglichkeit wieder so etwas wie ein halbwegs vernünftiges Leben zu führen. In diesem Fall gingen sie davon aus die aktuellen Ziele in Woche 3 zu erreichen, was ihnen etwas Zeit gelassen hätte. Der KS ist weit erfolgreicher als selbst sehr positive Berechnungen ergeben haben. Von daher gönnt denen etwas Atempause. Auch müssen die Goals dem aktuellen Stand entsprechend fluktuierend angepasst und durchgerechnet werden ob man sich das leisten kann.

CMON ist da kein Maßstab, da zum einen die Qualität ihrer Minis deutlich niedriger ist als die von DFC, zum anderen sie mit völlig anderen Kalkulationen an die Sache rangehen und Regeln eindeutig nicht ihre Stärke sind.

Die Starterbox von DZC hat etwa 200k in der Vorfinanzierung gekostet, ihr könnt euch also ausrechnen wie viel notwendig ist um alle vier Fraktionen wirklich finanziell auf 0 zu bringen ohne dass sie Geld aus der Kriegskasse zuschießen müssen. Und nein, einen Hype kann man nie wirklich vorhersehen, dass kann nämlich auch ziemlich übel ausgehen, wie schon manches überhypte Spiel erleben musste, dass dann den KS mittendrin abbrach.

PHR-Render und 3D-Prints sind in Arbeit und nähern sich der Fertigstellung und waren eigentlich für die 3.-4. Woche vorgesehen. Bilder werden wir gegen Ende dieser oder Anfang nächster Woche sehen.

@Umbauten
Zumindest die Minis auf der Messe hatten teilweise Plätze für Magneten schon vorgesehen, man konnte also einige Module auswechseln.

Also ich habe schon wesentlich besser geupdatete und kontinuierlich betreute Kickstarter miterlebt, bei denen die Qualität auch überragend war. Und da stand anfangs eine Person dahinter.
Wer sich ein bisschen damit beschäftigt hätte, wüsste, dass viele Leute sehr auf den Kickstarter gespannt waren und wer da keine Liste an Stretch-Goals vorbereitet hat macht in meinen Augen die bereits erwähnten Anfangsfehler.
Und ich muss auch sagen, dass ich persönlich kein Freund davon bin, "fluktuierend angepasste und durchgerechnete Stretchgoals" zu haben.
Bitte nicht falsch verstehen: Ich will schon, dass jeder, der einen KS macht dadurch nicht in die roten Zahlen kommt, mich stört eher das "fluktuierend angepasst". Da steht für mich immer ein "Oh, wir haben so viel Geld schon gesammelt, dann schieben wir alles, was die Leute eh schon wollen ein wenig weiter nach hinten".
