Tyranids
I have had another confirmation of Tyranids in November, but that will difficult to get more information during the weekend. This is one codex that I am excited about, and looking forward to even more than Marines. Simply because I have felt that they took it in the backside when it comes to the allies chart, and some of their units.
Tyranids are just so iconic, that I cannot wait to see them on the field. I am hoping that we will be seeing Imperial Guard afterwards, so that we can have some very classic 40k battles raging on the tables soon.

Finally some details on what we might be seeing in the new codex. A huge thanks to our source, for helping stay on track and with some details for Tyranids.
Please remember that these are rumors
via a strong source here on Faeit 212
Tyranids, at least at current can ally with themselves essentially.
They have the standard:
2 HQ
6 Troops
3 Elites
3 Fast Attack
3 Heavy Support
And can take an optional
1 HQ
2 Troops (not minimum 1, up to 2, but instead MUST take 2 and then...)
And if they do, it unlocks
1 Elite
1 Fast Attack
1 Heavy Support.
Only an HQ from the core can be warlord.
Then the diversity comes into play.
Hive Fleets now have different rules (think chapter tactics). Your secondary brood can be from a different hive fleet. Not representing two fleets working together, just similar evolutionary strains.
There are also army wide FoC changes based on your Hive Tyrant. Wings give you the option to take Gargoyles as your compulsory troops (so max 2) for instance. Bonded carapace let's you take Carnifex's as elites as well as heavy support (but can't be more than a certain number of points, so they end up kinda baby).
They have some really cool adaptations for skyfire.
Warriors can be purchased as sergeant style upgrades for gaunts and gargoyles. They get the biomorphs of the brood and are not attached like wolf guard.
Tyrannofex will see a points decrease.
Pyrovore will see torrent.
Ranged biomorphs contribute to a model's close combat.
Melée biomorphs enhance a model's ranges attacks.
You take some biomorphs that affect both, like +1 str to both.
But having a gun makes melée better and having melée weapons improves your guns. There's some new synergy there. Mostly for big bugs.
Psychic ability is a lot worse than what it is now, but it'd be difficult to explain and just upset people who don't have the whole picture.
All of this is subject to change and about a month old.
Bei dem folgenden Gerüchte Sammelsurium bin ich sehr skeptisch! Vermulich ist das meiste Wishlisting und das wenigste war. Na ja warten wir es mal ab.

There is a large group of Tyranid rules that are now floating around on 4Chan and all the forums by now. Its hard to tell how good of a rumor this is, so take it with a little extra salt until we can get more information. In my opinion, if this is real in any way, its from playtest material.
Please remember that these are rumors, please add some extra salt on this one.
Via 4chan:
Army-wide notes
- No FOC and ally table changes
- Devastation and Adaptation are new power tables with 3 powers each + primaris.
- Primaris for Devastation = Warp Blast, Adaptation = Onslaught (similar to battle-focus)
- All Tyranid powers can be used with either one or two charges to increase the effect.
- Ravenous Advance: Units with this rule can run & assault in the same turn.
- The Ground Trembles: All MC cause d3 Hammer of Wrath hits.
- Red Terror, Deathleaper and Old One Eye are unique upgrades to their respective broods.
-Harpy/Erinye, plastic dual kit.
- Harpy is designed to kill infantry hordes/provide support via its special vector strike.
- Vector striking it can either use Spore Mine Cyst to create blasts along the path or Sonic Screech to halve initiative and cause a pinning test.
- Erinye is an AA variant in Elite, very different front torso/head piece with gribbly tentacles.
- Increased Swoop speed and its gimmick is grappling other flyers.
- Vector strike -> dice roll 4+ -> the enemy flyer is dragged directly behind where the Erinye ended its move, including a new facing.
- Both can buy broods of Gargoyles that can drop off in the movement phase when not vector striking.
-Zoanthrope (Doom)/Genethrope, plastic dual kit.
- Zoanthropes are ML1 psykers, have access to the Devastation, Telepathy, Telekinesis tables.
- Genethropes are similar, but have access to the Adaptation and Biomancy tables.
- New unique biomorphs. Increased Shadow in the Warp range, Deny the Witch boost aura, two others.
- Both types can upgrade up to ML2 but only ever get 1 power, each Elite choice is a unit of 1-3 that can contain mixded Zoan and Gene.
- Doom has access to all the above tables and comes with Essence Leech and 3 powers.
- Consumes a wound every time it uses a power (except for Leech), but can keep casting until a Perils roll or its down to 1 wound.
Mycetic Spore/Mycetic Hive Node, plastic dual kit
- Spore is a Dedicated Transport, notable changes are that SC can join and MC broods can all opt to get spores.
- Hive Nodes are bought by HQ models (1-3 choice for Tyrants, 1 for every other HQ), no transport capacity.
- Nodes provide Synapse and can be configured in one of many ways. Grants poison or shrouding to nearby units or terraforms (Dangerous Terrain) the surroundings.
Carnifex
- Old unused bimorphs in the box are options again.
- Base cost the same but upgrades are much, much cheaper overall but lots of "only buy 1 out of this list" kind of choices which greatly limits what a fex can have.
- Tusked gives HoW an AP value, Thornback increases the number of HoW hits.
- Enhanced Senses gives Night Fighting.
- Tail Scythe & Tail Mace each deliver a single hit to all models in BtB at Ini 1, with different stats.
- Living Battering Ram rule: Changed to allow the Carnifex to assault the contents of a building/transport on a 4+ if it was destroyed by its charge, rolled once for the brood.

Here is your weekly round up of everything we have seen the past seven days.
TYRANIDS
A whole bunch of rumors are leaking on the next codex after the Marines, the bugs! Here is one giant mash-up of all the rumors that hit BoLS.
Carnifex - significant cost reduction
Harpy – big overhaul. New model/dual-combo kit, Flying Monstrous, Sonic Screech combines with Vector striking. Additional Spore Mine Cysts may be purchased as upgrades. Default Stranglethorn has new upgrade options.
New Flyer - Fast Attack choice, the alternative build for the Harpy kit.
Ymgarl Genestealers - Special arrival rule is shared with the Lictor, may now purchase standard Genestealer biomorph upgrades.
Hiveguard: new weapon upgrade option (available to a handful of units) that grants skyfire with an "enhanced ability" to ground FMCs.
Tyranids will get a massive overhaul with Psychic powers. Look for many new non-overt force powers that represent the chilling, horrific, warp-stifling power of the Hive-mind.
Aside from a few old chesnuts, look for almost all new Tyranid enhancing abilities, and other new chilling and damping abilities to use on enemies of reflect the horror, hopelessness, and dread of fighting the swarms under the psychic interference of the hivemind.
Look for concepts such as dampened psychics for opponents mixed with bio-enhancement powers to bolster the swarms.
Shadow in the Warp will remain in the codex, but receive a controversial overhaul.
More existing units will have the option of manifesting Psychic powers.

Playtest Regeln HQ
I want to spend a moment to add some extra salt to these. The source is adamant that these are from a playtest set, while according to another, these do not match up. So why post them up? Because they are rumors, and there is always the possibility that there something to them. There is no direct line to GW to tell me if these are in fact real or not, and if there was, they wouldnt say either way.
The source that sent them in, has been correct before and is a good source, but remember to please use a little extra salt with this set.

They rain down from the Hiveships, gelatenous bags of vile ichor and malevolence. Here's the latest word on the Mycetic Spore said to arriving with the upcoming Tyranids.
-Mycetic Spore is coming with the new Tyranid release
-Plastic combo-kit that makes the Spore and another large bug.
-It is an enormous creature, with an immense abdomen/transport sac, that spills over the sides of a standard oval base.
-It has tiny vestigial arms similar to a Zoanthropes, and a head with a tentacle ringed maw.
-The giant abdomen/sac looks swollen, and has internal protuberances looking like Tyranid creatures are stretching the skin from within, about to rip their way out...
-It has forward arms options that can be upgraded for various biomorph/weapon options.
-The secondary creature build option replaces the abdomen/sac with something entirely different.

Since its likely that the actual codex has already been set to print/ship by now, I'm sure this is specifically for November white dwarf army pics/battle report. With the new version of white dwarf (ok not that new, about a year old now), they can print them very quickly and make changes up until a few weeks before release, something they weren't able to do with their old printing contracts.

Karkinos:all you zodiac lovers will appreciate the reference. It is not known what form this Classical Greek monster will take in the new Tyranid codex, only that it is coming. Here is what else is on the way:
Monstrous Creature Broods may not deploy in multiple Mycetic Spores. ~YIKES!!!
HQ Trygon option.
Parasite is now a Shrike upgrade character, and moves out of the HQ section.
Tyranid Prime can now be purchased in Warrior, Shrike or Ravener forms.
Many classic biomorphs have returned as upgrade options for most units.
Many units can now run twice or run-assault. ~ nice countpoint to Battle Focus
New unit that is static but extends synapse range. Can take some weapons and has cc ability if attacked.
5 new units in the Tyranid Codex:-New flyer (Erinye)This set is also lining up with most of the previous rumor sets (see below link). 5 new units isn't too bad considering the large number of missing models that need to be filled out from the last codex.
-Mycetic Spore combo-kit alternative build (Mycetic Hive Node)
-Entirely new Monstrous Creature (the "Big Bug)
-New elite character (Crawling Plague - Named Venomthrope)
-Another one... (Genethrope)

Tyranid Named CharactersUnique Tyranid creatures are unique per detachment. For for example 2 Dooms, 2 Swarmlords, etc... at 2k, representing a very rare breed but something that each HiveFleet knows how to create in extremis.
05.11.2013 via BolS
"The Dominar embodies Tyranid Hive Mind completely. Within its shadow, lesser creatures bow in servitude, and larger Tyranids find greater access to the warp. It's armored shell protects it from the most powerful weaponry. Any enemy foolish enough to close with it will find no mercy, as it's claws and teeth rip through flesh and armor plating with ease, and within its massive body lie all manner of symbiotic organisms willing to defend their host.
The Karkanos is a lumbering, living fortress. Upon it's back, smaller Tyranids will gather for protection, waiting for the opportune moment to strike at their foes. Bristling with weapons, it can decimate foes as they close, while it's passengers target other enemies.
This multi-part plastic boxed set contains 84 components with which to build one Tyranid Dominar or one Karkanos. This kit contains all the weapon options available to the either creature including cluster spines, heavy venom cannons, brain leech devourers, and acid spray. This kit contains one Large Oval base. It is supplied unpainted and requires assembly - we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Paints."
"The dominar has a 18" synapse range and Shadow in the Warp range, and increases the psyker level of all Tyranid Psykers within 6" by 1 level. Also has It will Not Die, psychic Monstrosity, IC(c) and can take most Tyranid Biomorphs. It's bigger than the Tyrranofex model, wider with a taller stance, huge head with a massive brain under a wide plate, large mouth like the trygons. It has three rows of vents along the back plates, but the back plates come up behind the head like a turtle, offering protection."
" the Karkanos looks like a crab. It has a wide flat body, the back plate is sunk in and has a ridge around the outer edges. It's front set of arms can hold a few weapon options like venom cannons or devourers or can take claws or talons. Transport capacity is identical to the spore, but it cannot carry MCs. It is a dedicated transport option for the walking troops: warriors, Genestealers, hormigaunts, Termagants. Open top. Has special rules to handle being a MC and transport...not a vehicle. It's probably one of the most expensive dedicated transports in the game. Can be taken in heavy section solo."

Rumor rating: Probable, coming from known good sourcesLook for a return of many biomorphs in a big way, led by available model options.
Several plastic models had access to many biomorphs with modeling options in 4th, and those parts are currently cosmetic.
The feeling is that the biomorph options were curtailed much too strongly in the current book and if there is a modeling option for it in a plastic kit, it will have rules in the next codex. I'm looking at you Carnifex (and others)!

the info hes recieving from distributors and GW is that tyranids are being shipped for Dec 7th release.
Just got the confirmation of tyranids for dec!

Please remember that these are rumors. Endobai starts off referring to the rumors that we had over the weekend from Bols. If you are curious you can find them listed here by following the link.

(regarding the Bols rumors over the weekend)
Yep, that is a good idea. Half of it is completely wrong, mistaken or just slightly off the mark.
But hell, there could be a second wave so untill the codex is there it is not certain.
Can't say if the rules are, though - again as long as the codex is not released.
what the hell, expect a dataslate with the release. Nothing unexpected something like this appears I realise, but it will apparently give another option to create an army.
3rd edition players will notice some similarity between it and one evil, sickly powerful army list from a decade ago; though I seriously hope it will be only representing similar idea, but without the rules almost every non-Tyranid player hated back then.
(Regarding the dataslate)
Different name, different rules (I hope!), but in general similar thought behind it. A formation from models in the codex, so not an entire army.
I cannot confirm it fully because too many people will get too exited leading to another 5 pages of discussion on DakkaDakka (cheers guys!) and it will be much less than they will hope for. A nice, (hopefully) flavourish addition, but not the Mycetic Swarm people hated/loved in early 2000s.
(Who is the author of the Tyranid codex)
Ok, that is easy and spoils nothing. No author named.
Apparently right now it is a work of the entire team, but no real suprise here either with rumours about shared work circulating for a while.
Anyway I fully expect some images in next 6 days. As usual first probably something blurry, made by an old mobile phone camera from a wrong angle so that people can discuss how utterly ugly it is and they will never buy it.
I dislike one release from the Tyranid wave, but the rest seems fine or better than fine.
And the cover of the codex is all right, though could probably be better.
The data slate- when I read up on the original Mycetic spore list I think it was more just the deployment type of it- plus it was cool as it represented a specific stage of a tyrannid invasion- so good flavour fluff wise but I wouldn't want anything overpowered - it's just not fun to fight against.
The early invasion theme is still here, but this time without "drop a brood of Genestealers on their heads and see them kill everybody" mode.

Tyranids have their own psyker discipline containing 6 powers, with no access to any of the normal disciplines out of the rulebook.

Psychic Details
Tyranid psykers generate psychic powers in a new way. They gain 1 warp charge from each synapse creature within 6" but each synapse creature only generates a single warp charge. Tyranid psykers additionally gain a single warp charge per mastery level. This rule mechanic depicts the ability of the Tyranid Hivemind to focus power to key psychic organisms via the synaptic network. Each psychic organism however does have a maximum amount of warp charges it may utilize in a single turn, to prevent abusive "machine gun use of powers".
Apparently units of multiple synapse creatures now have another useful purpose - psychic reservoir.
There is also contradictory chatter on whether or not the new Tyranid psychic powers will replace the rulebook powers entirely. Some say yes, some say no.
Psychic Powers table:
-Dominion (Primaris)
-Psychic Scream
-Warp Blast
-Catalyst
-Paroxysm
-The Horror

Units Rumors
Various tongues are wagging that one of the new big bugs is the old EPIC chesnut, the Haruspex. Not only that, but the Haruspex is only one half of a combo kit and yet another EPIC big bug is buildable from the kit. ~PS, there's really not that many left... go looking.
Broodlord comes with fixed psychic power and a large number of biomorph options.
There is suddenly a distinct number of rumormongers talking about the removal of the Mycetic Spore and any other unit without a model in the codex (you do the math). Some chatter says the rumored Dedicated Transport big bug may replace it entirely as it never received a model in the first place.
via faeit212
Please remember that these are all considered rumors, although Endobai seems to be right on top of what is going on right now.
via Endobai on Warseer
I had to find the Tyranid codex and more important had to work for a couple of hours, too addicted to things such was food, drink and shelter to ignore this need. I am no Tyranid player so I wanted to have the codex in sight not to make any mistakes people will in turn mistake for something else.
It is still too early to say too much - hardly enjoyable to be in the spotlight shining like the Astronomican for the Hive Fleets...
I can only say maybe 20% of what I know for now. Soon images should start appearing in the web so it will be possible to comment on some of them.
Warriors.
In my opinion definetely the centerpiece of the release. Much like the Tactical squad for the Marine codex they are something every Tyranid player - new or veteran - will have to buy.
The box includes all or almost all weapon options the Warrior entry in the current (still the current) codex has + something really nice. Still don't expect all your wishes to come true. Remember it is no more than three infantry sprues in the box.
The unit's cost.
It depends on the cost of wargear and what special rules give them - namely what Synapse Creature gives them in the new codex. Right now I can see no meaningful point decrease. Still troops though.
Tervigon.
Still troops, but comes with 'the Gaunt tax' to occupy the slot. Gaunts are cheaper so it helps a little.
Much depends on the new psychic powers the Tyranids get because it remains a psycher with randomly generated powers so unlike some psychers in the new tyranid codex.
The Big Bug.
It is big, but not that big. Remember that the Wraithknight and Eldar models in general are smooth and do not have so many limbs, vents, horns, bio-guns etc so making something as large as the Eldar fellow would create something really, really expensive - definetely in titan price range. The big bug is thankfully cheaper.
The creature is taken from the Epic 40k, but the difference in size is not so ridiculously... pronounced, but it is large enough.
Ohh and the instinctive behaviour list is expanded - with entirely new modes some creatures will take when separated from the Hive Mind.
Tyrant Guard too got something new, a weapon upgrade they will find really useful.
The poster below was spot on. The Warriors are a new set, the last one was from 2001 so it is as with the Tacticals who got reinvented, multi-optional new sprues. Cool, useful, but they are not super-killy. Can easily be made the core of the army and have access to very many weapon options so good value for money too.
Psychic powers.
I doubt they will remove the access, so far nothing suggests it.
I can safely say something more.
All those sets allow construction of another unit, also the Haruspex which can be assembled as... another creature from Epic 40k.
Hive Guards got another weapon option which can be seen on the leaked image.
The weapon is electricity based. No doubt inspired by Teslas, but I have no idea if it works in a similar way.
Tyrant Guards are very lovely. My most favourite models in the release combining what is the best in the 3rd and 4th metal models.
Several weapon options just like with the warriors.
I think that they got those new 50 mm bases. I was mistaken in the past with the SM Centurions so forgive me if I commit another once again.
Haruspex is damn ugly so you will recognise it immediatelly, but its 'twin' is actually really nice looking MC.
Harpy's 'brother' is not called Eridne/however it was called in those rumours.
Hormagaunts
Cheaper and faster. Think of Slaaneshi Daemons.
Lictors
Of course nothing speaks like autonomous, scout, vanguard creature like a model which after landing realises how alone it is, how scary the world is and that everyone wants to kill it - so I hope it regains at least its autonomy. Rather safe bet in my opinion.
Rippers
If I see it right got more expensive, but are no longer suicidal.
Releases
Dual sets (one, lets say, is half-dual), so four MCs including three new beasties.
There are also other boxes, but re-packs/army sets.
No clamshell.

Of course the codex comes with Warlord Traits, new bioartefacts, and new instinctive behavior charts.
The enhanced ipad version has its own Force Requisition and includes audio tracks that I am not sure the Space Marine codex had.
Man man man, bei der Gerüchte Schlagzahl kommt man ja gar nicht mehr hinterher!! Also weiter gehts gelegentlich ohne Quelle weil direkt aus diesem Thread 🙄.

Laut BoLS Carnifex ca. 120 Pkt. nackt ohne Alles, ABER höchstwahrscheinlich W6.
Psychic Powers:
Primaris: Dominion, blessing, +6" synapse range for the caster
Catalyst - FnP for caster and unit, and another unit in 12"

the Horror - Broodlord have this power

6. Warp Blast - 2charges, witchfire, unchanged
Bounding Leap on Hormagaunts is explained there and it gives +3" Run.
Limiting Tyranids for codex-only powers is also NOT mentioned in the magazine,
Shadow in the Warp - not much about this, because it is useless against enemy in BatRep.
Which is Tau with 6 Riptides.

Warrior kits come with 3 models, one of which can be upgraded to a Tyranid Prime. The Tryanid Prime parts include a new chestpiece, flared shoulders, and a new head. The box also comes with all the options you can take, meaning everything is included.
Lash whips, boneswords, sything talons, and rending claws to outfit all three models, with bioweaponry like spinefists, devourers, and deathspitters. One model per brood can take heavier weapons that are included in the kit, such as the barbed strangler and venom cannon.
Options include toxin sacs, flesh hooks, adrenal glands

With the dam broken I am satisfied with my work and can use recently gained (un)deserved fame and glory for the benefit of humanity elsewhere.
I'll start with the benefit of one human, namely myself - which unfortunatelly takes time and effort.
Since I cannot afford answering all the PMs (sorry guys, but a dozen? Have mercy.) I will go through this single post.
You must understand that disproving fakes sometimes takes more time than writing something, even in enigmatic (living in the city where the Enigma was broken helped) Alpha Legion/Eldar style.
I am not a Tyranind player and each time I have to check the (still) current Tyranid codex to see if I make a mistake which would no doubt haunt me for the eternity in the endless depths of the Internet.
Recent rumours, most likely from 4chan are mostly valid, but there are fakes coming from more... creative sources.
Some might be still spot on, so I will only discuss those things I can confirm or deny easily.
Endobai responses are bold italics
1. Synapse gives eternal warrior
Not proven yet.
Seems a good deduction considering the price of the Warriors which remains more or less unchanged, but so far I have no solid confirmation.
2. Gargoyles are troops.
Cannot confirm that. FOC changes via HQs are possible, but right now just a speculation.
3. Trygons (primes), Carnifex, Hive Tyrant, Tyrannofex, Venomthropes have significant point decreases
True. Values are posted elsewhere, cannot tell if all are accurate, but in general there is a point decrease.
4. Zoanthropes come with Psychic Scream, and warp blast as standard
Nothing supporting this. I said some creatures are assigned specific powers and in this case it is a prime candidate, but right now I cannot say a definitive yes.
5. Brain leach devourers no longer strength 6
6. The Crone has a massive vector strike
Don't remember, but both are quite likely.
7. Tervigon, Warriors, gene stealers have significant price increases
Warriors and Genes stay the same, upgrades are either cheaper or more expensive, but the basic cost is identical.
Tervigon is more expensive, by about a nude Warrior cost.
8. No Doom, Parasite, Spore pod.
Cannot say for sure, but no confirmation they are and no traces of their presence I could find.
9. The big cannon bug has two different firing modes, one being a D3 Large Blast and one being multiple high strength, low AP shooting attacks.
Have no idea why it is supposedly D3. One concentated large blast with Ap2 and S7 or six lesser shots (six barrels).
BTW
Interesting bit. The gun is the brain of the creature, the grinning imbecile below is just the muscle useful to allow the brain to calculate all those things it likes and no doubt design subtle works of surreal art from the splattered remains of the enemy. Think Master-Blaster from 'Mad Max 3'.
10. Hungry eyes bug has the ability to magna grapple vehicles and enemy troops.
Nice, but pure speculation so far.
Psychic powers
Primaris: Dominion, blessing, +6" synapse range for the caster
Don't remember.
Catalyst - FnP for caster and unit, and another unit in 12"
True.
the Horror - Broodlord have this power
True.
5. Psychic Scream - 1 charge, nova 6", each target takes 2d6+2 minus its Ld wounds without covers and armors
6. Warp Blast - 2charges, witchfire, unchanged
Don't remember.
Will have access to BRB powers.
No reason to disprove it now or earlier.

Please remember that these are rumors, some salt is always required. Previous rumors has the box set at $90 or £55. Of course the release date is still on January 11th with advanced orders going live January 4th.

The new box makes two carnifexes with all the new options included.
Parts to make Old One Eye or your own beast or version of him are included
via an anonymous source from the Faeit 212 inbox.
One kit makes up both the Harpy and the Hive Crone
The model is larger than any other flyer we have for from GW
The Harpy can be labelled as a bomber and comes with a stranglethorn cannon or heavy venom cannon, and can drop biological spore bombs (3 choices).
The Hive Crone is meant to take on air targets with its claws, and comes with drool cannon, that spits digestive acid onto its foes. On the bottom of the wings the Hive Crone comes with 4 tentaclides (missiles) that are used to take down aircraft.
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212
I know everyone saw the leaked images of the Hive Guard, and I want to confirm that it is a dual kit making either Hive Guard or Tyrant Guard. The other weapon in the leaked pictures besides the Impaler Cannons, is a Shock Cannon. The kit allows you to equip all three with either weapon.
As far as the Tyrant Guard are concerned, all options are included like most 6th edition boxes, from scything talons, crushing claws, lash whips and boneswords.
Again advanced orders are not coming until January 4th. Release date is the 11th.

I just have a nice chat with a player in Vassal.
He supposedly got to see the new codex in a veterans tour at Warhammer World.
Rumors:
Tyranids can't take fortifications, but have +1 HQ, +1 Elites, +2 Troops, +1FA and +1 HS
Tyranids are going to have 3 supplements: Leviathan, Kraken, and Jormungandr. It is going to be a swarmy one, a nydzilla one and an infiltration one. But GW hasn't started to write them yet so anything may come.
There are advanced, basic, experimental, etc biomorphs.
Shadow in the Warp is a 12" bubble of -4 ld for enemy psych test, but also grants units the 5+ to deny.
No way to make Warriors viable, according to him the Eternal Warrior rumors are wrong.
Toxins Sacs may be the same, according to him the wording was poison 4+ to the attacks, not making any distinction between CC and ranged.
Flesh Hooks are assault grenades and d6 S6 ap5 rending and precision shoots.
Adrenals Glands give Furious Charge and the +3" run.
Scything Talons give an additional attack.
No Doom of Malan'tai, Parasite and Mycetic Spores.
Regeneration gives IWND.
Catalyst gives +1 to FNP and IWND.
Venom Cannon is S9 ap4 2 shots.
Deathspitter is back to being a blast.
Barbed Strangler is st6 ap5 and must take a S test or take d6 st4 ap3 hits.
Stranglethorn Cannon is the same but S8 and pinning.

personally I'd expect something accurate in the coming week i.e. something this pile of text is not.
Flesh Hooks are assault grenades and d6 S6 ap5 rending and precision shoots.
Second looks like wishlist. Cannot imagine 9 Tyranid Warriors throwing 9d6 precision shots - can you?
Adrenals Glands give Furious Charge and the +3" run.
Opposes all what we know for example about Horms = disproven.
Unless there are different effects for monstrous creatures and such and different for little fellas,

Nope. Six small shots, one large, but not that strong.
Hive Guard:
New gun is Spike Cannon, S7 ap4 2 shoots with Skyfire, enemy must reroll successful grounding tests
From the description of the weapon I doubt it can be skyfire. The weapon, but it doesn't mean that the unit will not be able to from its basic gun.
Lost Blinding Venom
No, still have it.
Hormagaunts:
5 points
Bounding Leap is charge after running
No it is not.
.
Swarmlord:

Yep, what I said before.
Venomthropes;
30 points:
Nope. Add quite much to the cost - about the cost of a Marine.

I bought the new tyranid codex to share it with my fellow gamers yesterday.
Pyrovore remains largley unchanged save that it gets slight boost to wounds, attacks and initiative.
Its cost is slightly reduced while acid maw attack is given at a bit higher strength but at the cost of making only single attack.
Mawlocs and trygon both are cheaper. Mawloc especially is about 20~25% cheaper.
Mawloc's special rule Terror from the Deep is still much same......except that when the damage is resolved hiding in ruin or cover of other kind is literally useless.
Mawloc can also resolve damage(via Terror from the Deep) more than once if there isn't enough space.
Shadow in the Warp gives penalty to nearby enemy psykers' leadership.
Harpy is also cheaper. Its wounds and attacks are slightly boosted.
Carnifex and tyrannofex both became considerably cheaper. Around 25~30 percent or so.
Carnifex can still take devourer with brainleech worms which remains same as before.(Just without its penalty to enemy leadership)
It has less attacks and slightly higher initiative, but it can inflict more than one Hammer of Wrath hits.
Both types of gaunts became slightly cheaper albeit the upgrades are bit more expensive.
Zoanthropes are also cheaper.
And as forementioned in my previous replies, impaler cannons will be the bane of eldar wave serpents if they come within range.
As for biomorphs, crushing claws are changed in a way that they don't give extra attacks but are more effective against vehicles plus strength buff.
Regeneration probability became much higher.
Tentaclids and electroshock grubs are effective against vehicles(Bionic EMP I suppose)
Other than some boosted version of already existing shooting attack, I see no significant difference.
Taking account of its crushing claws, Haruspex has decent strength(stronger than mawloc, weaker than carnifex) with small number of attacks.
It however can increase its attacks depending on how many wounds it suffered, while at the same time can regain the wounds.
Its blood is also acid while its tongue attack can pierce terminator armour.
Boneswords inflict Instant Death depending on to-wound roll while lash whip boosts wielder's initiative.
Warlord traits include buff to synapse range, reducing cover, turning a forest into more carnivorous one, etc.
Psychic powers include another buff to synapse range, FNP, pinning test with additional leadership modifier, pseudo-psychic shriek etc.
Last thing. Malantai is NOT destroyed by a single zoanthrope.
And no more steel rain for tyranids.
via singsel von warseer
Some infos again.
Synapse Creature : 12" Fearless and auto-regroup
Adrenalin Gland : Furious Charge and Fleet
Toxic Sacs : poisoned CC
Lictors : Now have infiltrate but without bonus to reserve rolls. About 20% pts drop
Deathleaper : Slight pts reduction, Changed to HQ. Has warlord traits giving additional VP when wins challenge.
No fearless but gained infiltrate. Enemies can only shoot snap shots against it and it still give penalty to enemy leadership.
No what was that and where'd it go
Tail weapons : CC weapon. Four kinds
1) S8, AP-
2) S6, AP5
3) Poisoned
4) S4 AP4 Rending
Ravener : Slightly less attack. No acute senses and no move through cover
May take expensive champion upgrade which can remove infantry model in b2b if all attacks hit.
Some of the psychics are : -D3 to WS and BS ; Allows friendly unit to run and shoot
Rending Claws have AP value of bolter. And No ymgarls
Hive tyrant can still give outflank to one troop unit by purchasing extra upgrade. Can only use tyranid psychics. So no biomancy
Flesh hook without rending
No 2+ armour for carnifexes. Although tyrants, tervigon and trygon can take it via bio-artifacts.(See below)
There are few bio-artifacts compared to other codices.
Some of them are : Bonesword with strength buff ; Ymgarl transformation(Which can increase armour save slightly)
Trygon of both kind are bit cheaper at the cost of slightly less attack. The tunnel rule remains largely unchanged
Instictive behaviours are fixed per unit just like former codex.
However, there are three specific results per behaviour depending on dice.
Lurk : Fall Back / Can shoot only when hidden / Can shot only when hidden + Stealth
Hunt : Go to Ground / Shoot closest unit / Shoot closest enemy unit + Preferred Enemy
Feed : Inflicting hits on themselves / Assault closest enemy units / Assualt closest enemy unit + Rage

Ehrlich gesagt versteh ich das Geheule auf Seiten der Ammis nicht. Wie in jedem Codex was gutes und was schlechteres.
Deathspitter 18', Str 5, Ap 5, Assault 3
Zoanthropes are a psychic brotherhood (level 2), that always know warp blast. So they generate one more.
Speaking of which I just noticed: The Tervigon is now 195 points, and is mastery level 1. So its psyker powers got nerfed a bit I think.
The new mechanic in the book is that instinctive behaviour is now lurk, feed, and hunt. Basically lurk means camping there, feed is assault, and hunt is shooting. If you fail leadership and they go on instinct, something bad happens on a 1-3 (lurkers fall back, shooters go to ground, feeders attack one another). On a 4-5 its something like can only assault, can only shoot, etc. On a 6 they gain a small bonus (feeders get rage, lurkers get stealth, shooters get preferred enemy.
The Prime still boosts the warriors as always.
Heavy Venom = 36', Str 9 AP 4, Assault 1 Blast
Venom = 36', Str 6 AP 4, Assault 1 Blast
Ripper Swarm:
39 pts for 3 bases, +13 pts per base
WS 2 BS 2 S 3 T 3 W 3 I 2 A 4 Ld 5 Sv 6+
May take Spinefists, toxin sacs, adrenal glands, and deep strike.
Genestealers come with Rending claws, but yu can buy ST for 4 pts per model
Hormagaunts are Fleet, Move Through cover, and have bounding leap (run +3 inches)
Warriors are 30 points per model (I don't have the old book on me to refer)
Warrior stats are:
WS 5 BS 3 S 4 T 4 W 3 I 4 A 3 Ld 10 Sv 4+
Yes, there are Haywire weapons. The flying Crone has Haywire missles, and the Hive Guard can buy a Haywire "shock cannon". Also, the electroshock Thorax swarm is now Haywire.
The Lictor's Pheromone trail says any model can drop within 6 inches of it when deep striking without scattering (again, don't have the old book here to compare, sorry)
Sieht aus als hätte ich die Wette gewonnen 😉
Zoanthrope Issue - A Zoanthrope brood follows all the rules for Brother hood pf Psykers except that the unit has a Mastery level of 2. In addition, if a brookd of Zoantrhopes uses the Warp Blast power, the number of shots fired is equal to the number of zoanthropes in that brood. (eg 3 Zoanthropes would make the burst and lance profiles assault 3)
Doom is gone, parasite is gone, mycetic spore is gone. Ymgarl stealers are gone, but the "ymgarl factor", of giving a special boost each assault round (+1 Str, +1 atk, Improve armour save by 1), can be purchased as a bio-artefact for 40 points.
Spore mines and shrikes are still around, and Red Terror is back. Gargoyles still have blinding venom, can buy toxin sacs and adrenal glands.
I don't see options to improve the Hive Tyrant's carapace to a 2+ save anymore, or any other HQ's for that matter. Looks like you'll need the Ymgarl Factor.
Tyrannofex rupture cannon is 30 points, 48' range, S 10, AP4, Assault 2
The tail morphs are:
Bone Mace, S 8, AP - , Unwieldy
Prehensile Pincer, S 6, AP 5
Thresher Scythe, S 4, AP 4, Rending
Toxinspike, S 1, AP 6, Poisoned 2+
A tail attack allows a single added attack, resolved separately from a model's other close combat attacks. It doesn't benefit from other melee weapons, biomorphs, etc.
Hive Tyrant stat line:
165 pts, WS 8, BS 4, S 6, T 6, W 4, I 5, A 4, Ld 10, Sv 3+ ( Interesting: You now have to pay 20 points for lash / whip, or it comes with two sets of ST)
FOC as follows:
HQ - Hive Tyrant, Swarmlord, ld One Eye, Tervigon, Tyranid Prime, Deathleaper
Troops - Warrior, Genestealers, Termagants, Hormagaunts, Ripper Swarm
Elites - Hive Guard, Lictor, Zoanthrope, Venomthrope, Haruspex, Pyrovore (Ha ha! Pyrovore "Elite"!)
Fast Attack - Shrikes, Raveners, Red Terror (as part of ONE Ravener brood), Sky Slasher, Gargoyle, Harpy, Hive Crone, Spore Mine Cluster (how mines are "fast" attack is beyond me)
Heavy Support - Carnifex, Biovore, Trygon and Prime, Mawlc, Exocrine, Tyrannofex
Powers of the Hive Mind:
1. Catalyst - 1 charge
Blessing that targets psyker's unit and up to one other friendly within 12'. Targets gain FNP.
2. The Horror - 1 charge
Malediction targeting single enemy unit within 24'. Target takes a pinning test at -2 Ld
3. Onslaught - 1 charge
Blessing that targets a single friendly unit within 24'. Unit can both run and shoot in the shooting phase.
4. Paroxysm - 1 charge
Malediction targeting single enemy unit within 24'. Target's WS and BS reduced by D3 (roll once for both)
5. Psychic Scream - 1 charge
Nova power, 6'. For each target unit, roll 2D6+ 2 and subtract Ld. Unit suffers wounds equal to result, no armour or cover saves.
6. Warp Blast - 2 charges
Witchfire power, either burst or lance. This is the standard Zoanthrope Warp Blast.
1. What can take regeneration?
Hive Tyrant, Tervigon, Prime, Broodlord, Haruspex, Harpy, Crone, Carnifex, Trygon and Prime, Mawloc (earlier I made a mistake and said they couldn't), Exocrine, and Tyrannofex.
Regen is a 30 point biomorph. Now you roll a single D6, and regen 1 wound on a 4+. Not one dice per wound lost.
2. Does anything have an invulnerable save, and if yes, what (other than Zoanthropes)?
Not that I see.
3. This one is wishful thinking on my part, but I assume there is no Codex special rule which allows certain units to run and assault (some of the earlier debunked rumours were mentioning things like this, and if it were true, it would IMHO solve all the other problems with this codex)?
Not that I see.
4. Do the rumoured upgrades for the tervigon exist? I'm talking about the ones which allow unlimited spawns or 4D6 spawns.
Not that I see.
5. What can take flesh hooks or whatever they're called (the things that act like frag grenades)?
Warriors and Prime.
6. You said the Haruspex was useful against infantry and that was about it, and then said it had a S6 tongue attack, which i'm a little confused about. As far as you can see, can it still use smash (being a monstrous creature) to get 2 S10 AP2 attacks against vehicles (or anything else), or more attacks if it is wounded?
Haruspex (160 pts)
WS 3, BS 3, S 6, T 6, W 5, I 3, A 3, Ld 7, Sv 3+
Feeder Beast - If a Haruspex inflicts at least one unsaved one in the assault phase, it recovers a single wound at the end of that phase.
Rapacious Hunger - In the turn in which it charges, every unsaved wound it inflicts in close combat allows it to make an additional attack. These bonus attacks cannot generate further attacks. Wounds that inflict instant death generate only one bonus attack, and wounds caused by HW, acid blood, or tail do not benefit from this rule.
The Haruspex has a Grasping tongue - 12', S6, AP 2, Assault 1, Gulp!
Gulp! A to hit roll of a 6 is a precision shot.
7. Although scything talons now suck apparently, does the trygon still reroll all misses in CC via some new special rule or whatever, or does he just get an extra attack for two sets of scything talons, and attack at AP6 (useless)?
He gets an extra attack. He is monstrous though, so it's always at AP2 right? I dunno, because the entry for ST says Str (user) and AP 6
8. Other than the points decrease, is the Tyrannofex the same, as in, is the Rupture cannon still S10 AP4 two shots?
Same. The cannon is 30 points (dunno what it used to be)
What about biovores and spore mines?
Biovore (40 pts)
WS 3, BS 3, S 4, T 4, W 3, I 2, A 2, Ld 6, Sv 4+
Spore Mine Launcher 48', S 4, AP 4, Assault 1, Barrage, Last Blast, Spore Burst
Rules are a bit long winded, but seem about the same.
Pyrovore looks about the same as well. Template weapon, acid maw, explode when you kill them, etc.
Zoanthropes can take one other Psyker power as a brotherhood (they always have Warp Blast)
Is the Death Leaper an Independent Character or just a solo-deploying HQ Lictor?
Infantry (Character), HQ, 130 points, Mind Eater Warlord Trait (2 vp for killing characters in challenge)
WS 9, BS 3, S 6, T 4, W 3, I 7, A 4, Ld 10, Sv 5+
Rending claws, ST, flesh hooks
Chameleonic skin, Deep Strike, Fear, Fleet, Hit & Run, Infiltrate, Instinctive Behaviur (Lurk), Move Through Cover, Phermone Trail, Stealth
It's After Me! (Lower a character's Ld by D3)
Where is It (Enemy models can only fire snap shots when targeting Deathleaper)
Raveners (30 pts per model)
WS 5, BS 3, S 4, T 4, W 3, I 5, A 3, Ld 6, Sv 5+
Deep strike, Instinct (Feed), two pairs of ST. Any Ravener can exchange one pair of ST for Rending claws at 5 points per model.
Can take Spinefists (3 pts), Devourer (5 pts), Deathspitter (10 pts). One Ravener in the *army* may be upgraded to Red Terror for 85 points:
Red Terror
WS 6, BS 3, S 5, T 5, W 3, I 5, A 4, Ld 8, Sv 4+
Two pairs of ST, Prehensile Pincer (see that tail list I posted up there), Deep Strike, Swallow Whole (if it hits with 4 attacks, it auto kills a guy. The guys gets his invuln save and that's it)
Carnifex (120 points)
WS 3, BS 3, S 9, T 6, W 4, I 2, A 3, Ld 7, Sv 3+
Fearless, Instinct (Feed), Living Battering Ram (D3 Hammer of Wrath hits)
May replace ST with crushing claws (15 pts)
May take any bio-morph, spine banks (5 pts), or Bio Plasma (20 pts). May take Thresher scythe (10 pts) or Bone Mace (15 pts) tail morphs.
Instinctive Behaviour
(As before, Fail Ld and be out of synapse for this to happen)
Instinct (Lurk)
1 - 3: Survive. The unit is treated as having failed a morale test and immediately falls back
4 - 5: Seek Cover. In the movement phase the unit is not slowed by difficult terrain, but still must take Dangerous Terrain Tests. In the shooting phase, the unit can run, but can only shoot if it is in a building or area terrain. The unit cannot charge in assault.
6: Stalk. As 4-5, but gains stealth.
Instinct (Hunt)
1 - 3: Burrow and Hide. The unit immediately goes to ground. If there is a fearless model, use results from 4-5 instead.
4- 5: Prowl. In the shooting phase, the unit cannot Run and must shoot at the closest enemy unit within range and line of sight. If there is no viable target, do nothing. Cannot charge in assault.
6: Destroy. As Prowl above. Also gains preferred enemy.
Instinct (Feed)
1-3: Cannibalistic Hunger. Unit suffers hits equal to number of models in the unit. Use majority strength, AP -. Wounds allocated by owning players. Armour saves okay, but no cover saves. Unit can do nothing. If it is a single model, use devour (as if rolled 4 - 5).
4-5: Devour. Cannot shoot or run. In Assault, must charge closest enemy or do nothing.
6: Kill. As above, but gains rage.
Revx, Hive Tyrant, Swarmlord entries both say they generate their powers from Powers of the Hivemind. Broodlord always only knows The Horror.
arnestig, Carnifex can buy their bio plasma and can buy bio cannons, sorry missed it out while typing. Carnifex can buy every damn thing from the looks of it![]()
kertoan, venomthrope still 45 points.
WS 3, BS 3, S 4, T 4, W 2, I 3, A 2, Ld 6, Sv 5+.
Lash whips (+3 Init), confers shrouded on self and wihin 6'. Poisoned 2+, Instinct (Feed). Toxic Miasma: Usable once per game, in assault. During init step 1, all enemy units enaged in combat take hits = models in base to base. Hits are Str 3, Ap -. Poisoned and ignores cover.
Nameless, Brainleech Devourer is 18', S6, AP-, Assault 6.
Note that Hive guard Impaler cannon is unchanged (still Str 8, no need line of sight, etc.) Hive guard are 55 pts with same stats
Swarmlord (285 pts)
Ws 9, BS 4, S6, T 6, W 5, I 6, A 4, Ld 10, Sv 3+
MC, Character
Warlord Trait: Synaptic Lynchpin (18' synapse)
Psyker level 3, Shadow in the Warp, Synapse
Alien Cunning: Must add 1 to reserve rolls
Swarm Leader: At beginning of turn, choose either Swarmlord's Unit, r a friendly unit within 18'. Unit gains Furious Charge, Monster Hunter, or Preferred Enemy till end of turn.
Swarmlord generates powers from Pwers of the Hivemind.
TWO pairs of Bone Sabres: Str User, AP2, Blade Parry (4+ invuln against wounds caused by melee weapons), Instant Death
09.01.2014 via jackedup @tth
Hive Crone 155 Pts
WS 3, BS 3, S 5, T 5, W 5, I 5, A 3, Ld 10, Sv 4+
May take one of the following:
Stinger Salvo (10 pts)
Cluster Spines (15 pts)
May take items from Biomorphs List
Weapons and Biomorphs: Drool Cannon, Four Tentaclids, Scything Talons
Drool Cannon - (Template, S 6, AP 4, Assault 1)
Tentaclids - (36', S 5, AP 5, Assault 1, Haywire, Seeking, One Use Only)
Seeking - If a model makies a shooting attack with this weapon against either a zooming flyer or swooping FMC, it re-rolls failed to-hit rolls made with this weapon
Raking Strike - A hive crone's vector strike is resolved as S8
FMC, Fearless, Instinct (Feed), Raking Strike
Tervigon Spawn:
The spawned unit cannot move during the movement phase in which it is spawned, nor can it charge this turn, but it is free to shoot or run as normal.
HG Shock Cannon:
18', Str 5, AP 5, Blast, Haywire, Assault 1
Any HG can replace its Impaler cannon with a shock cannon for 5 pts
The first time the Mawloc doesn't clear the area, you resolve the s6 ap 2 hit again. Two hits is kind of a good thing right? No?
Okay this is the exact wording on the Mawloc page, just for clarity:
Burrow: An unengaged MAwloc can, at any point during its movement phases from the second game turn onwards, elect to burrow. If it does so, remove it from the table and place it into ongoing reserves. A mawloc cannot deep strike and burrow in the same turn.
Terror from the deep: When arriving from deep strike reserve, a mawloc can choose to deep strike onto a point occupied by another model (friend or foe) - roll for scatter as normal. If a Mawloc deep strikes onto a point occupied by another model, do not roll on the deep strike mishap tab;e. Instead, place the large blast marker directly over the spot the Mawloc is deep striking onto. All units except flyers and flying monstrous creatures beneath the blast marker suffer a number of Str 6, AP 2 hits with the Ignores Cover special rule equal to the number of models that unit has underneath the blast marker. If the blast marker is on a multi-level ruin, only models on the lowest level of the ruin count as being under the blast marker. For wound allocation purposes, assume the attack is coming from the centre of the blast marker. Hits against vehicles are resolved against their side armour.
If, after removing casualties, it is now possible to place the Mawloc on the table on the spot where the blast marker landed, then do so, even if this is within 1" of another model (but not if it would be in base contact with, or occupying the same space as, another model). If it is not possible to place the Mawloc, replace the large blast marker on the spot and resolve another round of damage as detailed above. If, after removing casualties for the second time, it is still not possible to place the Mawloc, roll on the deep strike mishap table.
Biovore (40 pts)
WS 3, BS 3, S 4, T 4, W 3, I 2, A 2, Ld 6, Sv 4+
Instinct (Hunt)
Spore Mine Launcher - 48", Str 4, AP 4, Assault 1, Barrage, Large Blast, Spore Burst
I do not see anything else special about the Biovore in the book...
Trygon Tunnel Wording:
Subterranean assault - If, when a Trygon (or Trygon Prime) deploys via deep strike, it scatters on top of impassable terrain or another model (friend or foe), reduce the scatgter distance by the minimum required to avoid the obstacle.
After the Trygon (or Trygon Prime) has emerged, mark the position under the creature's base with a suitable marker - this represents the tunnel left by uts emergence. Any friendly Tyranid Infantry unit that arrives from reserve in subsequent turns may emerge from the Trygon's tunnel instead of arriving from reserve as normal. Only one unit may emerge from each tunnel marker each turn.
If any unit chooses to do so, place the entire unit so that all of its models are wholly within 6" of the centre of the marker and in unit coherency. These models cannot be placed within 1" of enemy models ir within impassable terrain; if any models cannot be placed, these excess models are removed as casualties. A unit may not move or charge on the same turn it arrives from a Trygon's tunnel, but may shoot or run.
Spore Mine:
Floating Death - Spore mines move 3" in the movement phase and, when they run or charge, move half the distance rolled. Spore mines are never slowed by difficult terrain, but must take dangerous terrain tests as normal.
Spore mines do not attack in close combat. Instead, at Initiative Step 10,. the entire clister detonates! To resolve this, centre the blast market over any one of the unit's spore mines. Eavery other unit (friend or foe) under the blast marker suffers a number ofhits equal to the number of models under the blast marker. The strength of these hits is equal to 4, but is increased by 1 for each additional spire mine in the detonating cluster (to a maximum of S10). These hits are resolved at AP 4 and ignore cover saves. Once all hits have been resolved, remove all models in the spore mine cluster from play as casualties.
