Dacian Warhost boxed set

Wielding lethal Falx blades and supported by Roman-built war machines, it's not hard to see how the Dacians gave the Roman military a bloody nose or two. This week, our revamped and reorganized Dacian Warhost boxed set is back, and it's bigger than ever!
attachment.php

The new warhost is ably reinforced with new Dacian releases, too. First of these is our Dacian command group. With the chieftain wielding two hand falxes, he's every Roman's worst nightmare...

New: Pike & Shotte Harquebusiers

Adapting tactics due to the rise of the pike in battle, commanders started to employ Harquebusiers – firearm-equipped horsemen – in increasing numbers. This was certainly true of Imperialist commanders during the Thirty Years War.

attachment.php

attachment.php

Warlord’s boxed set portrays typical mounted harquebusiers of the late 16th and early 17th century, and can represent troops of many nationalities.
In each box of Harquebusiers you’ll find:
- 12 multi-part metal Harquebusiers (including command)
- 12 plastic horses
- Plastic bases
- Background guide
- Six Full-colour flags for Thirty Years War

The Duke of Cumberland
Unflatteringly nicknamed ‘Butcher’ Cumberland by his foes following his ‘efficient’ quelling of the Jacobite Rebellion at Culloden, Prince William, The Duke of Cumberland showed no mercy to the rebels and went on to ‘pacify’ rebel areas after the battle. He was lauded as saviour from the Jacobite menace by those opposed to that cause. Following the heights of his experience at Culloden The Duke would fade from military life and instead immerse himself into the life of politics and horse-racing…
Our portly Cumberland model is shown sat astride his horse. This model comes with two different right hand options – the baton shown above and also an option for a hand holding a goblet as he enjoys a tipple pre-battle!

Bonnie Prince Charlie
Depending on where your sympathies lay, Prince Charles Edward Louis John Casimir Sylvester Maria Stuart, would be more commonly known as Bonnie Prince Charlie or The Young Pretender. As prime instigator of the Jacobite uprising that would ultimately end in defeat and the death of the Jacobite Cause. Fleeing Scotland after defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746 he cut a romantic figure as he narrowly escaped the dragnet of Government forces searching for him and his followers. His escape complete Charles Edward Stuart would spend his life in exile in France and, later, Rome.

Roman Carroballista
The Ancients version of the self-propelled gun, the Carroballista saw the Roman army mount scorpion catapults in carts. The cart allowed the catapult to be rapidly redeployed or even for the Scorpion to be fired from it’s wheeled mount! Why on earth wouldn’t you want these within your Roman Legion?
attachment.php

This set comes with metal cart and mules and a plastic Scorpion catapult with two multi-pose crew. The multipose nature of the kits allows for plenty of modelling options whether you prefer to fire your catapult from the back of it’s transport or alight before loosing it’s deadly payload.

Roman Medicus

When we showed you this great little dioramic piece a few days ago we weren’t prepared for the sheer level of excitement it would cause
attachment.php

ThisMedicus represents the cutting edge of Roman medical technology which sadly for his patient is on a par with your dad’s tool box. By the time he’s finished our brave legionary may well be wishing he’d tried his luck with the Celts! All joking aside, the Medicus’ role in the Roman army would see the life expectancy of men surpass that of women for the first time. This was largly thought to be down to the expertise of the Medicus on the field of battle.
attachment.php

Ideal as a great objective marker, diorama piece or even the ultimate casualty marker for Hail Caesar. It consists a Medicus, a legionary aiding his fallen colleague and what’s left of a legionary. The Medicus’ toolbox, instrument wrap and a wicker basket filled with towels, bandages, etc finish this scene off perfectly.

Warlord Games expandieren wieder einmal. Die neuste Erwerbung ist BEF Miniatures, welche vor allem 28mm-Miniaturen für den frühen Zweiten Weltkrieg veröffentlicht haben.

Warlord Games buy BEF Miniatures!

We’re delighted to be able to announce that Warlord Games have purchased BEF Miniatures from owner and designer, Ian Crouch.
BEFtitle-300x155.jpg

This move allows us to bring the early stages of World War II to our customers with the intention to not only extend the great 28mm range Ian has built but also take it to a new level.
597311a.jpg

With dozens of vehicles and a range of miniatures covering British, German and Belgian armies BEF meshes very well with our existing Bolt Action range which, whilst predominantly focusing on the late war, has French and Polish ranges for the early war. Expect all nationalities to see new releases before too long as Ian will continue to make vehicles for the range and we already have several almost ready to release! As you’ll appreciate moving a large range of miniatures, masters, moulds, etc will impact on production and as a result the BEF website has been taken offline. As soon as we’re able you’ll start to see the BEF range appear on the Warlord Games webstore and, of course, you’ll hear all about it first in our weekly email newsletter. The sooner the better as we’re all very excited about this new line.
Matilda+II+A12.jpg

For the late war and Pacific fans amongst you, never fear – we’ll continue to bring you loads of new goodies! We have plenty coming through at the moment and the pace won’t slacken due to the BEF acquisition!
Warlord-Logo-Small-300x158.jpg

We’d like to thank Ian for not only his boundless enthusiasm for the period but the gentlemanly way he’s conducted business in closing this deal. Not bad for a soft Southerner…

Celt Linebreakers! £6.00

At the fore of an attack would come the Celt Linebreakers. These brave (foolish?) men would run forward armed with their swords and spears and disrupt the enemy battleline by jumping over shields and making a hole in the enemy line for their allies to push through.
Our Linebreakers come equipped with sword and spears and two have a shield. They use our figrueheads system so you can swap heads around for even more variation.

Pre-Order Plastic 1812 Napoleonic Russian Infantry
http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/13008/pre-order-plastic-1812-napoleonic-russian-infantry/

Our latest plastic boxed set is almost here! Cast a weather eye over the steadfast soldiers of the Russian Emperor
attachment.php

These finely detailed plastic models come in a box 32 strong. Included are 4 metal command models (see below). Note that the drummer and officer have different arms and head options allowing you to make each battalion look different – flag finials are also included.
attachment.php

The infantry formed the backbone of all armies in the Napoleonic Wars, but no army relied more on its humble private foot soldier than that of Imperial Russia.
attachment.php

The models are simplicity to build (glue together body, head and backpack and you’re done!) yet the subtle variety of poses and the ability to swivel the heads gives the regiment a uniform look whilst also allowing a lot of variation within it.
attachment.php

Brave, stubborn and resilient they had to cope with poor conditions, worse supplies and a cadre of mostly incompetent officers. Whenever western observers spent time with the Russian army they were constantly amazed by the sheer tenacity and good humour of the average infantryman in the face of adversity.
attachment.php

This boxed set is designed to allow you to field one regiment of Russian infantry; the variants in the box allow you to both musketeer and grenadiers along with a command section to lead them into battle. We have also provided a selection of flags from a number of regiments so you can get them into the action right away.
attachment.php

As you can see from the images above there are optional heads allowing you to make the regiment entirely of grenadiers or totally as musketeers. Of course you can also field a mixed battalion too if you so desire.
This great plastic boxed set is just the beginning though – we have the 1809 Russian Infantry in taller shako (and grenadiers the the huge plumes…) which can also be built as grenadiers or musketeers. And on top of that we also have the Pavlovsk Grenadiers in their famous mitre caps too. We’ll be showing more of these two boxed sets off in next weeks newsletter…

BEF British Army

Following our purchase of theearly war BEF Miniatures range, the first batch of models are back on sale! Where better to start than the Tommies of the British Expeditionary Force themselves…
attachment.php

attachment.php

The BEF Section pack has everything you need to get started. This pack comprises of 8 men – six are armed with Lee Enfield rifles and a two-man Bren gun team – the Bren number 2 also has a rifle.
attachment.php

attachment.php

This BEF Command pack adds leadership to your squads of British squaddies. This pack comprises of an Officer with Webley pistol and a Sergeant with SMLE rifle.
attachment.php

attachment.php

In the support realms, you can add a Boyes anti-tank rifle team to your BEF force and take care of pesky enemy armor with this two-man team – gunner with Boyes anti-tank rifle and spotter.

attachment.php

attachment.php

Finally, the BEF Vickers HMG team pack adds sustained firepower to your force and forces Jerry to keep his head down. As you can see the pack contains a water-cooled Vickers team and 3 British Expeditionary Force crew men.loads of infantry support in the form of 3 men and a Vickers Heavy Machine Gun.
