Gibt es für Dark Angels wohl noch nicht, obwohl ja schon bekannt sein wird, das die Dark Angels in der neuen Grundbox sein sollen.

Finde ich ganz nett, die Dark Angels waren ja schon immer der Plasmakanonenorden und Ordenspriester in Trupps oder als Anführer macht auch einen guten Eindruck.

So we've been hearing for months now that the Dark Angels may be in the new Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition boxed set (said to be paired off against the Chaos Marines). But what needs fixing the most?


Lets take a step away from the Chaos Marines/Legion talk a bit and try to just focus on the lamentable fate of the Dark Angels. All the raw ingredients are there for a fantastic codex. Outside of the Space Wolves, the Dark Angels are arguably the most divergant chapter out there. The chapter is not only the Original Legion (Chapter Numero Uno) but organization wise gives you three (arguably four) main choices:

Standard Codex Organzation
Ravenwing
Deathwing
arguably Ironwing (for you Horus Heresy Epic scale purists)

Fluff wise you get all the funky Fallen/Cypher stuff thrown in there in addition to all the standard skulking around behavior. On the model side, we get the monks with guns meme, which is fairly cool, and hey, don't forget the Jetbike!

Ruleswise, the Dark Angels fell under the dark fate of being the first codex of the "less is more" redesign that Games Workshop started to back off of after the CSM codex fiasco. Additionally, over several editions, the Studio has had a hard time keeping all three of the main build options (standard Chapter, Ravenwing, Deathwing) balanced. More often that not, the rules will heavily favor one of these avenues and hammer the others. Its a balancing act that has never *quite* been pulled off.

So the question is what do you guys want to see to bring back the dark mystique of the Dark Angels? We've seen how far the Design Studio has pushed the Blood Angels, and the Wolves (I would argue the Grey Knights are so divergant to not even be considered in the same league as the other Marine books). So what will it take to get the Brothers from Caliban back on their feet and on the tabletop.

Here's my take right off the top:

-Some type of heavy emphasis on plasma family of weapons the Dark Angels are said to possess. The studio turned a bit of fluff about the Blood Angels having access to lots of Land Raiders into making them Blood Angels transport options after all!

-Jetbike squads. If they can make one, they can make/find more

-Specialist Land Speeder variants. Let the Ravenwing shine!

-Cypher rules - PLEASE! Heck for that matter give us a couple of Fallen Angels ICs to be able to make entire "fallen DA" forces. Those guys all think they are innocent anyway...

-More Banners. If the Wolves have Sagas, give the Dark Angels lots of banners to give the standard marine part of the army some cool perks to make them as attractive as the Deathwing and Ravenwing portions of the chapter.

I gotta go, I think I hear the clinking of a Dark Angel Rosarius behind me... Have at it.

Die DA waren ja mit dem Neue Edi - Gerüchtethread abgedeckt.

Aber da du so frei warst ... die Sache mit den OPs gefällt mir weniger bzw. es kommt darauf an, wie sie es lösen. Ala Wolfgarde in jedem zwoten Trupp nen OP finde ich doch etwas albern. Aber ein paar Unterarten im OP Dasein ist schon i.O.: Normal, Absolution, Interregator ...

Plasmaheavy: Von mir aus. Fand das zwar nie so ausgeprägt bei den Angels, aber ein Plasma-LR als Xte Variante macht den (LR)Kohl auch nicht mehr fett - also warum nicht? Ein PK-Pred wäre natürlich auch gierig.

Bis auf die Wings gibts bei den DA aber tatsächlich wenig, mit dem man arbeiten kann. Am ehesten würden mir da auch die Fallen einfallen aber das wäre Dex im Dex und mit dem Gestank des Chaos (smells good) belastet - auch wenn es die Fallen nicht wahrhaben wollen.

Insgesamt würde ich einen neuen DA Dex begrüßen, gerade im Zusammenhang mit der Grundbox, dann würde ich nämlich doch mal welche aufbauen und die Box wäre mir ohne das ich was verticken müsste - har!

Ich hatte allerdings seit dem Engel des Todes Codex tatsächlich diese Plasmavorliebe übernommen. Herrje, ich spiele sogar Bots mit PK.

Ich denke allerdings auch, daß man über die Banner was machen könnte und letztlich ist es eh egal, da wir mitspielen könnten, wenn die Optionen und Punktkosten aktuellen Codices entspräche...

Wichtig ist hier natürlich RW/DW und da denke ich auch an spezielle Landspeeder, evtl. bessere Trikes und vor allem Zehnertermitrupps bei gleicher Flexibilität wie bisher.

Cypher, respektive Fallen werden wir uns, wie ich GW kenne wohl eher abschminken dürfen, vielleicht dann aber ja in einem doch wohl auch anstehenden Chaosrelease?

Und bitte endlich mal Möglichkeiten Bikes und Termis ohne BUCM in den Standard hieven zu können oder wenigstens punktend zu kriegen.

Mir gefällt dir Gedanke, dass sich die Dark Angels durch die o.g. Ordenspriester-Varianten etwas von allen anderen Orden abheben. Vor allem da die Thematik der Ordenspriester im DA-Fluff m.E. essentiell ist. Fände auch nen Ordenspriester-Cybot klasse (vor allem weil ich das FW-Modell echt klasse finde^^).

Ein Plasma-Predator wäre auch interessant.

Es sollte aber trotz allem nicht vergessen werden, dass die DA doch ein relativ Codextreuer Orden sind. Nicht dass der Fluff so krass verdreht wird, nur damit sie wieder nen völlig andren Dosen-Orden rausbringen können.

Hmm naja irgendwas müssen Sie ja mit den DA's machen damit Sie sich von den anderen Orden entscheiden. Praktisch als Gegen-Auto zum Baal Predator. Da würde sich ja glatt der Name Caliban-Predator anbieten 😎!
An Waffen könnte ich mir gut eine twin-linked Plasmakanone im Turm vorstellen und vielleicht Seitenkuppeln mit twin-linked Plasmawerfern.

Was sich noch an Optionen bieten würde wäre:

- ein Ravenwing Kommandotrupp auf Jetbikes
- Sternguard Munition für die DW Terminatoren
- Chapter Tactics die den hartnäckigen Charakter der DA wiederspiegeln

Aber es bleibt abzuwarten. Ich persöhnlich wäre ja schon dankbar wenn Sie den Codex einfach von den Punkten und Optionen an den aktuellen (oder zukünftig geplanten) SM Dex anpassen.

Das denken viele, aber:

Die Dark Angels sind sühnende Kriegermönche. Deshalb die vielen Priester, immerhin müssen sie die Ketzer aus den eigenen Reihen vernichten.

Die Black Templars sind entschlossene Templer-Ritter, eigentlich sind Ordenspriester bei denen überflüssig, weil jeder Templar so entschlossen ist wie ein Ordenspriester anderer Orden. Templer und Ritter haben auch keine spirtituellen sondern kämpferische Führer: Eben die Marschälle.

Am ende wird warscheinlich wieder so ein Klon mit einer anderen Haarfarbe herauskommen.
Man hat zwar einige Unterschiede aber auch wieder dinge, die faul aus den anderen Büchern übernommen werden und kaum eigenen Charakter besitzen.
So wie die Sternguard, die wird warscheinlich in der Buch mitwandern, einfach weil man die dann im nächsten Codextreuen Marine Buch hat.
Dazu dann ein paar Individualisierungskinder, wie die Sang. Guard bei den BAs und fertig ist die Aktion.
Um am ende haben wir das übliche: "Größer, schneller, weiter..."

Ich würde mir eher wünsche, dass man wieder einen Meister des Ravenwing auf einem normalen Bike spielen kann. ^_^
