Anyone know the release date for Dark Elves?
the end of the WD talks about BB next month.
So maybe in the 2-3 first weeks of july.
According to Skitters on Talk Fantasy Football (Posted on June 1 from the previous Warhammer live):
"No release date on Dark Elf stuff ("next few months"). I think i caught a hint that the assassins would be around a month after the box. They were discussed in terms of Dark Elf have assassins whereas other teams have a big guy so from that I think it will be just assassins and not a booster with a couple of blitzers.
*Dark Elf box set will include alternate witch elf hand and an alternate lineman head. "

With your permission, i add the other information from that user:
*Doom Lords pitch should be July
*no specific indication of a planned booster for dark elves, though there was general talk of teams getting boosters
*Human booster and alternate troll shown as was Roxanna, Swift twins and Eldril. These will also be next few months.
*There will be an Orc booster - but will be to 2 black orcs, 1 blitzer and 1 thrower...(this sounds like it will be further down the line)
*A Helmut Wolf model is being worked on - sounds like he will be one of the next stars made available
*Sounds like an intention for there to be a BB specific Scyla model as Andy noted that the existing model is a little too big for the BB pitch
*a Gobbler Grimlich is being worked on as it caught the imagination of one of the sculptors (I didn't catch the name)
*There was some alternate minatour artwork that may be used for a Grashnak model
*In general it felt like an intention to get models out for most, if not all, of the star players...though it did feel as if the process was more sculptor being inspired and asking to take on a model rather than we need this model - design it approach (which to me implies they will be a little scattergun in release order but should hopefully show more creativity)
*Karla was specifically mentioned as being a model that people would like to see. There was a brief talk of her being a strong female character so it makes me wonder if it may be a direction for some future new star players.
*The intention is to get to 10 star players for each team *but* that is not a hard cap and it may be in time some teams may have more added (though it came across as if some teams may have 10, others may have 11 or at a stretch 12 rather than bigger discrepencies)
*recruitment still on-going for the specialist team

Based on the new photos of Blitz Bowl, it appears that the game is more than just Blood Bowl on a smaller scale. The actions are different and the block dice results are slightly different as well. There are Challenge cards and Bonus Play cards which appear to bring in objective-type goals into the game.

Something I wasn't sure about is if there are stats for all the new star players in the book? Also if these are now "official" as things were always a bit unclear with stuff like that.
Full stats for all ten Stars that will play for Chaos Chosen are in the Spike! Journal, in the team reference section (yes Faust every one will have a full reference page like that). That'll be the same for each one. Certain Stars get a full write up, some just get a statline in the reference section because I'm not keen on duplicating Morg's write up, for example, numerous times.
In this one 8 Stars get full or partial write ups. Morg and Guffle will get write ups in a more appropriate Spike! Journal and any with a half page may get a two page spread elsewhere as well. I really don't want to duplicate background text if avoidable.
Everything we print is official the moment it becomes available.
How it is used is up to the individual. As always Inducements and the like are up to league commissioner or event organisers discretion.
I'd add the caveat that certain things that aren't on general release like Grak & Crumbleberry, or stuff we clearly signpost as experimental like the app teams, should be handled accordingly.
In the old days of the Fanatic magazines a lot of content was submitted by readers and so was not official. That's not the case with these supplements.

Page count is a very real consideration for stuff like that, I had to leave a fair bit of this first one out (don't worry, it'll feature elsewhere). That and it's a WD feature. I can't just stop giving them those rules to publish.

Will there be any scope for members of the public to add articles in the future?
No, sorry. All writing is done internally these days, or we get strange bits of non canon stuff or confusion over what is or is not official. It was quite the coup getting the tactics article done externally and as Gegg will attest, the brief was stringent and the editing more so!
I may be quietly approaching people to write a tactics article for us though.

JTY - am I reading into your post too much, or it the implication that in time there will be journals for all the already released teams? Humans, Orcs, Goblins, Skaven, and Dwarves must account for a fair proportion of the collective fluff of BB. Could perhaps be timed with boosters?
It'd be nice and to have a Spike! Journal for every team eventually. We shall see if it's possible I guess.

Releasing Spike! Journals for previously released teams in the off months between new team releases would be a nice way to keep up enthusiasm and interest in the game. A release every 2 months wouldn't seem to be too demanding, especially if one of those releases is "just" an issue of Spike!
I thought like that once, many moons ago when I was young, bright eyed and bushy tailed, before I first got to see what went into publishing a book through the old Fanatic studio. Back when I had hair and a 32" waist!
It might not seem too demanding but something like Spike! Journal requires a tonne of resources. Me writing it and getting the new stuff playtested is easy. There are about 30 people involved from layout artists to artists, editors and proofreaders to translators. And back again. Layout has to be done for each language separately because of the differences in length of a piece in different languages.
This work also has to fit in with other jobs and releases have to fit into a very busy schedule planned a long way in advance because the people doing it belong to other departments and have to do the same work for other releases we have coming.
All told it takes about six months from the first key stroke to sending it to the printer.
So yeah. I'd dearly love to swing back around and do the rest in time, but I don't recommend breath holding!
I appreciate your enthusiasm though because it echoes mine 😀

Actually we got 12 star players (14 if we count individuals). The ones playing for Chaos but are missing in Spike magazine are Grak & Crumbleberry and Brick Far'th & Grotty.
The new star players are Scyla Anfingrimm, Gobbler Grimlich and Withergrasp Doubledrool.
Grak and Crumbleberry aren't on general release so haven't been included in any official list. They remain a WHW exclusive and their rules an option. That's why they'll play for any team; if in your league you choose to add them, you add them for all teams equally.
Brick and Grotty are a deliberate omission. Use them by all means but we have said before that some CRP Stars won't make it into the current edition.
The White Dwarf and Black Gobbo are not really an Inducement, more of a narrative device for games between certain teams. Not having a cost kinda means they don't belong in a list of Stars that can simply be hired for a set cost.

I see that Spike! nr 1 (Chaos) actually changes the rules for Inducements:
Wizards are now (In)Famous Coaching staff and the 0-2 limitation applies.
Non-charachter (unnamed) Wizards can be taken by both sides at the same time.
Maximum 1 Wizard per team.
All Wizards can be used once per game to cast one of their spells.
However, Horatio X. Scottenheim can cast a fireball once each half. How is this affected by the new rules in Spike Magazine stating Wizards can only cast as spell once per game?
Horatio has his own rules and those clearly allow him to be used once each half. He's an exception to the rules for unnamed Wizards who can be used only once, but he is a Wizard in so far as he takes up your 0-1 Wizard slot because unreliable as he may be he'd be too much alongside a more reliable, qualified and card carrying Wizard.
Borak won't feature in every issue, he'll be quite an infrequent contributor.
The in world reason for that is that he writes for the weekly Spike! Magazine and isn't very interested in the Journal as it isn't always about him.
The other reason is that we have other characters we want to use and introduce.
But don't worry. Borak is never far away.
Glad you enjoyed it. I enjoy doing it.
