Taipan/Panzerkompanie

Hier wären mal einige ziemlich gute Vorschläge von grandmasterspectre aus dem wip-forum.

OK story to get some ideas flowing.

You previously mentioned that Taipan is a Forgeworld near Armegeddon. That would mean given the current stalemate there, most of your production is probably flowing into Armegeddon and equipping the steel legion or troops flowwing into the area at least. However you also have Taipan legions as evidenced by the use of the models.

First decision, what does the paint scheme above correspond to? It could be a tech guard or Skitarri of Taipan, it could be a local Taipan regiment (e.g. from another planet in system whose regiments are equipped from the forgeworld and shipped off) or it could be a steel legion regiment. The second of these is the easiest to reconcile fluff wise (the first are unlikely to be off planet, the last doesn't entirely comport with your paint scheme vs. accepted GW). The second also gives many more options. Your involvmeent in EoT and Medusa will probably be somewhat limited. Maybe onyl a single regiment (not quite as well equipped) being sent there (becuase they were already close). Given your location, your principle activity would be Armegeddon.

One possibility is that the taipan system includes the forgeworld and maybe also a mining world (for raw materials) and a hive/fortress world (to supply the miners and protect the other resources) and which is the source of taipan regiments.

Given the current conflict on Armegeddon, newly raised regiments on your hiveworld are geenrally being shipped there, with equipment provided by your forgeworld including a number of unique patterns of tanks which are being desinged to aid the imperium in that conflict. These new patterns are variations on existing STCs based on what local techpriests have interpretted as sanctioned modifcations for fire control. In most cases, the modifications are designed to improve ammunition fire rates and ammunition storage to allow for more prolonged conflict against ork hordes where tanks are often only overrun becuase they run out of ammunition and are run down by the ork hordes. Some of the modifications have also been done to improve perfromance in the dense hive city battlefields that have become more common, while others represent experimental weapons to deal with a growing number of gargants

Specific ideas for the various tanks:

Exterminator: Probably one of the most useful designs for fighting orks, rules don't change but fluff focuses on how this design provides ease of use/repair, more ammo storage etc. This keeps them at the front for longer periods.

Manticore: Possibly provide high explosive or incedniary rockets. Both are contemplated by IA1. High Explosive is the easiest fluff to reconcile. Decrease strength and AP (maybe to griffin levels) of rockets and give them the massive balst from the bombard to deal with hordes.

Zeus (maybe its just me, but I could totally see this thing actually being named the Vulcan): experimental anti gargant weapon (first to be mounted on such a small chassis, namely the Armegeddon basilisk chassis). Use destroyer stats (the weapon is an overpowered laser destoryer, I notice your pics show a number of destroyers so we can have your forgeworld be one that can reproduce the technology in reasonable numbers) but add "Titan Killer" to the special abilities. Also the weapon is unrelaible becuase of heat buildup, maybe a special "gets hot" variation where a roll of 1 to hit cuases the weapon to shut down as the gun is in imminent danger of overheating If you make a "save" the coolong system kicks on (the big tanks in the back) flooding the barrel with coolant and saving the gun, but you have a weapon destroyed result. Otherwise the gun explodes (e.g. 6 on penetration table).

Atlas: as you have

Stormmaul: Rebuild of a baneblade chassis. Your Forgeworld is unable to produce the mega battlecannon (many cannot). To accelerate assembly, instead of a regular battlecannon you utilize a massive autocannon array helping the tank to support infnatry dealing with Ork Horde attacks. Due to the success of the original turret mounted weapon, a second was later added at which time the pattern was offically redesignated the Stormmaul from the baneblade.

Leman Russ (StuG). This is an assualt version on the Leman Russ for fighting in dense terrain. Its based on the destroyer and thunderer tanks hull mounting the battlecannon on a modfied taipan pattern chassis. The design is popular becuase removing the turret and sponsons allows it to be produced faster than a traditional LR. One possible option, give it Siege Armor, (and upgrade from cityfight) automatically (its top armor becomes 12 instead of 10 - only useful in cityfight, the demolisher and thunderer have this built in as well). This is a very minor change to the rules of the LR that I think gives it a much more assault gun feel.

Hydra/Thundereer/griffin/salamander (and genrally) - Taipan has traditionally utilized STC extensions whcih provide for more orante vehilce appearance and a generally higher driver compartment. While this does little for their combat effectiveness, it does make the vehicles have a distinct appearnace and the Magos of Taipan will assert improves reliability by better honoring the machine's sprit.

Chimera: Is this the base crew carrier, or the variants. For variants I'll propose the siegeworld rules. Otherwise, similar to the above.

Siegeworld - Chiemra Variants

Navy: These are generally close support workhorses. The Smilodon is more of a gunship than the vulture while filling much the same roll. However, the nature of battle on armegeddon rarely allows for undetected drops, therfore its designed more to batter its way to its destination. The two supporting planes are both designed to provide support for the above and general air cover for troops. Thunderbolts are the ubigutous fighter workhorse, more modern lightnings are simply too expensive and unrelaible to provide to the warzone.

Kommissar: A pupil of Yarrick perhaps?

Scenarios: When cities of death comes out, possibly provide a Hive city attack scenario

A hold off the horde scenario. A cross between a meat grinder and the chaos horde scenario from Storm of Chaos in fantasy (the defenders will get annihilated, the question is how long they can hold out).

@JohnTallJones
Danke, für die Story klingt schon sehr gut!

Hier mal wieder ein Eigenbau. Atlas Taipan Pattern. Allerdings noch sehr wip.
Schreibt mal was ihr bislang davon haltet.
