-The 'Reflex Mode' means that certain models have a special ability to react to actions made by the 'Active Mode' player (generally attacks I would assume). For example the Vanguard Samaritan troopers reflexive action is that they can fire at an attacking enemy when it get's within X amount of squares of it. This can for example be used when guarding corridors or covering the back of teammates. The Phase 1 Strains/Revenant's reflexive action on the other hand means they can advance and charge up to 4 squares at any enemy that attacks, but fails to kill it. See it as a representation of their relentless advancement against anything that can be infected, Zombie style.
-The Strain player can make Phase 1 Revenant's 'self combust' (or as Rob put it 'Juice') when near enmemies to infect them with the nano-virus. This mechanic can also be used to turn the Revenant into new nano-clouds, used for infection and evolution.
-Infected humans can at certain points of infection be controlled by the Strain player to attack their own, and I believe also be made to self combust.
-You can use the Vanguard 'Tactical Network' to 'mark' enemies, making them easier to hit I believe. Barker Zosa (Vanguard heavy weapons specialist) for example can shoot 'marked' enemies through walls, basically destroying the wall and whatever lurks behind it.
-There's also 'Hurley', kind of like the Vanguards A.I system that deploys drones assisting the Vanguard in offensive and defensive situations. I believe these 'drones' are the so-called 'Hoover Tanks' we've seen. The Hurley A.I can do lot's more stuff when it comes to the Vanguard Tactical Network, but not everything is revealed yet.
-The Vanguard soldiers have the ability to 'cloak' using their Opticammo mechanic (similar to everyones favorite Predator). This mechanic can be represented by using the 'clear miniature' versions of the Vanguard troopers/heroes, it is not neccessary though. The Strain cannot use reflexive actions against cloaked troopers, they will probably be more difficult to hit and/or damage as well.
-When injured but not killed certain (or all, not sure) Strain enter into 'regenerative' mode where they do more damage and are more 'infective' (similar to an injured Xenomorph bleeding acid or the Lambent Berserker becoming more aggressive and leaking damaging imulsion when injured). This can visually be represented by the 'Glow in the Dark' versions of the Strain models, once again that is not needed for gameplay, just a cool little extra.
-The Strain player can use 'nano-clouds' to:
a)Infect living humans into Phase 2 Strain (Stalker/Quasimodo).
b)Re-animate dead humans into Phase 1 Strain (Revenant).
c) Evolve certain Strain into more advanced forms, turning a Phase 2 'Stalker' into a Phase 3 'Scythe Witch' for example. Basically making his troops more advanced/deadly as the game rolls on.
-Rules for the Vanguard to use 'power shields'.
-Basic game is standard 1 vs. 1 but a complete solo-play campaign will be included called 'Lights Out'. Rules for co-op and multi-player games will be added later on, probably with the next 'Firebrand Rebellion' expansion.
-9 scenarios with a running narrative (The Outbreak Campaign). And I believe something like 10 stand-alone scenarios.
-Downloadable campaign including a huge 'final battle' scenario involving 70-80 models. Not sure but I believe this is called the 'Quarantine Campaign'.
Geht mir genauso.
Every Biohazard set will get another Cthonian model free, as well as a stats card to play the model as a Construct Assault Drone, slaved to the Cthonian! He (it?) won't be as infectious or as smart, but he'll (it'll) be just a shooty!
