Hawk Wargames - Dropfleet Commander

[h=2]Update #24 – A whole host of unlocks, and more Q&A Sessions[/h]Thanks to new pledges and increased support from loyal backers, we’ve smashed through a series of stretch goals!
Yesterday’s update gave backers information and images about the Admiral’s T-shirt, available as a bolt on to all, and today we’ve hit over £415, meaning the digital screensaver download pack will be available! The pack will be downloadable from our website, and will include some of the awesome artwork created for Dropfleet Commander. Unlike other elements and rewards from the campaign, the download pack will released early – we are currently aiming for one week after the kickstarter ends.
The next unlock (that we are already well on the way towards!) is the Civilian Cruise liner, which is a great model and fun gaming piece. It can be used in player-made scenarios, and we will create a stat line for it which will be free to download to all from the website – however the model will be kickstarter exclusive; free to high level backers, they will be a bolt on for all others.
We can also give out some more information on the deluxe rulebook upgrade. Thanks to your support we will be able to make all rulebooks deluxe, both in pledge level and bolt ons, as well as for retail later next year. The deluxe edition includes:

- Pages now printed on thicker paper stock (150gsm).
- Cover to be Matt laminated and have spot UV on raised areas.
- Increased content and background.
- And due to popular demand, we will also be providing each book in a card box which will help to keep the book protected, and also allow player to put it on their shelves in portrait (the rulebook is A4 Landscape).
Last but not least, our Q&A’s have been popular so far but some backers have asked for more lead time in knowing when they are on. Listening to the community, we have planned 2 more Q&A sessions for this weekend – one on Saturday and one on Sunday:
Q&A session 3: Saturday 28th November, 5.30 – 6.30pm (GMT) – This will be run on the comments section of update #25.

Q&A session 4: Sunday 29th November, 11.30am – 12.30pm (GMT) – This will be run on the comments section of update #26.

The two different times are to make it easier for backers around the world to plan for them. Our usual Q&A guidelines will be in effect, and we’ll reiterate those at the top of each update.

Kind regards,

The Hawk Team

Update #27 - Thanks for your patience - Some more PHR!

From deep in South London, in the Hawk Wargames studios, we are happy to be able to bring you some new PHR... but first, here is the most recent unlock from £440k:

The Eden Prime Map Set brings 6 double sided maps showing regions from across the planet. This Set is available as a bolt-on for £30, and is the final map set being made available as a bolt-on.
Next up (at £460k) we have the Deluxe Resin Cluster Pack. This (£30 Bolt-On) will be a set that can be used in game instead of the card versions supplied in the Two Player Starter Set, and provides enough clusters for all scenarios in a tournament sized game.
Then (at £475k) we have the Dropfleet Commander Poster Set (£18 Bolt-On), which includes 5 A2 sized posters. We plan for these to be rolled into a tube, so they will be well protected in transit. This set of 5 Posters will contain 4 Faction Specific visuals of all the spaceships for each race, and a poster of some of the artwork. An example section is shown below for how the ships will be on the posters:

Example section from UCM Poster, unlocking as a bolt-on as part of the Dropfleet Commander Poster Set at £475k.
If we hit 3000 backers, then every pledge level backer will receive a UCM Dog Tag. More information and visuals will follow on this in due course.

And if we hit £500k every pledge level backer will receive a Frigate Sprue for each faction in our Frigate Bonanza, (along with the flight stands for these 16 models).
But, so you don't have to wait any longer, here is a PHR Frigate... along with a selection of Cruisers that you may also not have seen yet!

Thanks you for your huge faith in Hawk Wargames in this Kickstarter! We hope that with your continued growing and sharing of this campaign, we can reach and unlock the Frigate Bonanza Reward with you all over the next few days!

Schade, die PHR sagen mir nur teilweise zu.
Inwieweit ist man den auf die Designs angewiesen? Wurde dazu mal was in den Q&A gesagt? Also muss ich bspw.

Update #28 - Clusters, Sectors, and Shaltari Shooters

Welcome to the start of December, and the beginning of the last few days of this Dropfleet Commander Kickstarter! What a November it has been...
However, always wanting to look forward, we have a few exciting things to show you, as well as a bit more detail about some of the key parts of the game, including another video from Beasts of War.
We’ve mentioned Clusters and Sectors during the campaign, but with the Deluxe Resin Cluster Pack now unlocked we thought we’d talk about how these crucial elements work in-game.
Clusters are the vast, sprawling urban areas of a planet. In game terms they come in three types – small, medium and large. These are the general areas that players will be fighting over. However, much like modern day cities, these clusters have key strategic points that troops will fight over for control of the whole area.
attachment.php

These key areas are called Sectors, and are made up of three types: Commercial Sectors, Military Sectors and Industrial Sectors. It is these Sectors that players land troops in, defend, assault and bombard from orbit. These are all important, and in most scenarios they are central to your mission. Each Sector type has a set DP (similar to a ship), with Commercial having the most, then Military then Industrial.
Each printed Cluster has clearly indicated areas onto which you place Sector tokens, allowing you to play all the main scenarios in the Rulebook. The Two Player Starter Set comes with enough Cluster sheets and Sector tokens to play all the scenarios up to tournament sized games.

The Deluxe Resin Cluster Pack comes with enough 3D resin Sector pieces to play all the main scenarios in the Rulebook. These serve as a direct upgrade for the card tokens in the 2 Player Starter Set. The pack includes: 6 Commercial Sectors, 10 Military Sectors and 12 Industrial Sectors. They allow players to easily identify which sector is which, as well as being beautiful gaming pieces on the board. The tiny, lavishly detailed buildings represented on the pieces are also in scale with the ships!

And, a few more things to show you:
The next Beasts of War video on the Shaltari
And finally, we will be showing off a range of PHR Frigates tomorrow and hopefully before the end of the campaign we are going to be able to show a few more painted models...
More on both of these to come very soon!
