Dynastopian Wars

The world of Dystopian Wars is similar to our own, but subtly different. The year is 1870 and the Industrial Revolution occurred decades earlier than in our own world. Technology is far advanced, and in many cases, unrecognisable, which has led to the development of fantastic naval vessels, hulking land ships and terror from the skies in the form of airships and war balloons.
Dystopian Wars is set in a Steampunk Victorian world and is designed to ensure a fun game with a large selection of high quality models in a couple of hours. The rules support Naval, Aerial and Land models from the outset, so that you can set up battles and scenarios in any combat setting. Spartan Games will supply highly detailed, high quality resin and metal miniatures with which you can roam the high seas, scour the smog filled skies of Dystopian Wars for enemy flying ships, or doggedly defend the cities and countryside of your home nation.

Heroes of Myth & Legend
Our first set of 40mm miniatures start our journey into the world of Greek Mythology and focus in the main on Jason and his Argonauts. We've kicked off with a number of classic modelsfor this particular myth and added a few extra models along the way.

Firestorm Armada
This game is our second major product release, and follows the same ethos with which we designed The Uncharted Seas, both are games that are easy to learn and give a fast paced game. We are big fans of naval games whether they are on the ocean or in deep space, so it was a logical progression to ask our sculptors here at Spartan Games to work on some futuristic ship designs.
Firestorm Armada launched on November 23rd with four fleets in place: Terrans, Dindrenzi, Aquans and Sorylian. All four fleets also had Carrier upgrade ships available for them and in our 96 page core rule book we detailed two more races - The Directorate and The Relthoza. Over time we will roll out more upgrade ships, including such things as Escorts, Heavy Cruisers, Leviathans, Gunships and so on.

Uncharted Seas
The Uncharted Seas is a fast paced, action packed game of naval tactical combat set in a world of high fantasy. Using superb resin and white metal miniatures, and controlled by fast and easy to learn rules, the game allows you to wage war with fantastical squadrons of mighty warships.
Choose from one of several races, including the Iron Dwarfs with their steam powered ironclads, Orc Raiders with their grotesque machines of war, the ever powerful Dragon Lords, an ancient race of magical seafarers, Imperial Humans hell bent on grabbing as much land as they can and the Thaniras Elves with their sleek ships of war.

Dann lohnt es such ja tatsächlich nimmer Uncharted Seas anzufangen, schade aber auch 🙁

Abverkauf in den Läden, kein Support fürs Spiel und letzten Endes Abverkauf im Direktvertrieb. Damit kann man auch keine neuen Mitspieler für begeistern, also wieder Ressourcen frei für andere Dinge 😀

Ist wirklich schade, ich stimme zu. Vor allem sehr bedauerlich, das ja letztes Jahr erst alle Flotten (bis auf die Ralgard) neu aufgelegt und auf Spartans aktuellen Stand der Fertigungstecchnik gebracht wurden - und die Designs konnten sich teilweise wirklich sehen lassen. Neue Mitspieler kann man so leider wirklich nicht mehr begeistern, auch wenn Uncharted Seas ein komplett durchentwickeltes System ist und mit dem letzten Regelbuch auch sehr ausbalanciert war (letzteres und die Armeelisten kann man ja aktuell noch auf der Sparten website herunterladen).

Wer noch Flotten hat, kann ja noch mit anderen Leuten spielen (so wie ich). Aber aufs Ganze gesehen ist das natürlich schon beinahe mit dem Ende des Systems gleichzusetzen. (Es sei denn man findet genügend begeisterte Spieler, die dann bei SG in UK ihre Flotten ordern.)

Kurz gesagt:
Orks: Starke aber kurzreichweitige Frontgeschütze, halten auf den Gegner zu und vernichten ihn im Enterkampf. Einfache Taktiken aber vorhersehbar
Drachenlords: Elitearmee. Stark aber die besten Einheiten sind über die Armeeliste beschränkt. Leicht besserer Beschuss auf lange Reichweiten.

Sehr bedauerlich!
Während ich den jetzigen Schritt aber nachvollziehbar finde, halte ich insbesondere SGs Strategie in den letzten Jahren seit Erscheien von UcS für viel bedauerlicher!
Der Spartaner macht es sich hier, denke ich, etwas einfach, wenn er die VErantwortung für die Maßnahme mehr oder weniger auf die mangelnde Nachfrage schiebt, denn es ist doch offensichtlich, dass UcS SG-intern schon mit FA nicht mehr weiterentwickelt wurde und mit DW dann mausetot war. Die einsamen Piratenballons sprechen doch Bände, hier hat jemand mitten in der Schicht aufgehört zu arbeiten.
Ohne Angebot (Support) keine Nachfrage, so lautet die richtige Gleichung!
Natürlich haben die SG-Fans die neuen shiny DW- und FA-Schiffchen gekauft! Weil einfach keine UcS nachkamen!
Das einzig verwunderliche ist, wie SG praktisch von Null in die Extremo-Nische "Steampunk-Naval-TT" vordringen konnte und sich dort hält und sogar weiter ausbaut.
Dabei wünsche ich den Spartanern weiterhin viel Erfolg, aber sie haben mich enttäuscht: Kreel wird es jetzt wohl nie geben...

Dazu kommt auch nocht, daß die Preise der UCS-Boxen mit DW mitgezogen sind. Ist doch klar, daß niemand so viel Geld für ein nicht etabliertes Spiel ausgibt und es lieber in etablierte wie DW und FSA steckt. Da hat Spartan am Grab von UCS selbst tüchtig mitgeschaufelt.

Ich denke auch, das die sich lieber um die Spiele kümmern, die viel besser laufen, anscheinend ist Fantasy Schiffe Versenken wohl nimmer so angesagt wie Steampunk. Aber es gibt auch keine Alternativen, oder?

Ich vermute SG friert UCS ein und gräbt es wieder aus, wenn mal irgendwann eine Piratenwelle kommt. Um einen Spielerpool zu schaffen, müssen die Preise für UCS aber einfach deutlich runter. Ich gürchte, dazu ist Spartan nicht bereit.

Na ganz so schlimm ist es noch nicht. Nur: Du denkst, ich weiß. Gibt nichts spannenderes als die Pflichtangaben gegebüber den diversen Behörden zu lesen. In Deutschland Bundesanzeiger bei uns auf der Insel Company House und Co. . Für 39 Briten kriegst auch DU diverse Infos. 😉

Nope, das pdf-Regelbuch ist vollständig. Gleiches gilt für die Armeelisten, die man ja auch von Spartan Games herunterladen kann. Wenn du es dir ausdrucken lassen willst, hast du es dann auch in Papierform - was aber bei Farbdruck teuer werden kann - s/w ginge aber natürlich auch...

Neues für Dystopian Wars

Und das ist nichmal alles Zeug, was Spartan Games im nächsten Monat rausbringt...

Das Repackaging der alten Fraktionen gefällt mir eigentlich muss ich sagen. Dass man nun die Geschwader immer in der maximalen Größe bekommt ist doch ein Vorteil gegenüber den Blistern. Allerdings muss man nun eventuell unnötige Modelle kaufen, wenn man nur eine spezielle Einheit aus einer Box braucht - oder man muss bei Spartan direkt bestellen, denn soweit ich weis, werden im Zuge der Neuveröffentlichung die Einzelblister für die Läden abgeschafft.


Ach ja, der Carrier der Osmanen ist natürlich extrem schick (aber auch extrem teuer...). Und er ist sowohl zu Land als auch zu Wasser einsetzbar - und soweit man das sehen konnte wohl auch recht leicht zu magnetisieren, damit man das Teil in beiden Schlachttypen auch einsetzen kann.
In der Tat ein meehr als gelungenes Centerpiece für die Fraktion.

RUSSIAN COALITION & CORE NATION UPGRADE BOXES
