Llovar Rutonu, a shaman of the Loth K'han tribe makes a demonic pact with the Ynfernael. He spreads the corrupt power offered by these demons to the rest of his tribe, and later to other tribes of the Uthuk Y'llan.
The united Uthuk set out from their homeland in the Ru Steppes to scour the rest of Terrinoth. This invasion has become known as the First Darkness. [RW], [RA]
The wizard Timmorran Lokander unites the mortal races of Terrinoth against the Uthuk invasion. [RW]
Waiqar Sumarion, a young wizard and one of Timmorran's generals, leads a strong offensive deep into Uthuk territory against Timmorran's advice. Waiqar ends up getting caught and tortured by the Uthuk. [RA]
Timmorran manages to rescue Waiqar and returns him to active duty after a short recovery period. Together they repel the Uthuk invasion. Having driven the Uthuk back into the Steppes, they then lead a crusade known as the Scourging of the Wastes in an attempt to thoroughly wipe out the Uthuk Y'llan. Some Uthuk manage to survive the Scourging by hiding along the shores of the Kaylor Morbis. [RA]
Thereafter begins an age of great peace that lasts more than 100 years and covers the world of Mennara. War and hatred fade into myth and the people of Terrinoth begin to believe that evil has been eliminated forever. [RW]
King Daqan rises to power in Terrinoth. He remains in power for the entirety of Timmorran's age of peace, presumably granted long life by Timmorran's magic. [RA/Web]
“Ages Past” (est. 5900 years ago)
Timmorran, on his deathbed, creates an artifact he calls the Orb of the Sky. The purpose of this artifact is to maintain his era of peace after his passing, because although magic can extend lifespans, only an inanimate object can last forever. [RW]
The Wizard's Council is formed to hold dominion over the Orb and ensure its proper use. [RW]
On the Night of Betrayal, Waiqar launches an assault against Timmorran's tower in an attempt to claim the Orb for himself. The armies he commands follow his lead. He claims to be “a descendent of Llovar Rutonu” as a result of his experiences while their captive. To me, this sounds like he was corrupted by their demonic influence, perhaps forced to drink demon blood as the Uthuk do. [RW], [RA]
Realizing the folly of putting so much power into one object, and also realizing that there is no safe escape, Timmorran shatters to Orb of the Sky. He uses the power of one shard to transform his loyal apprentice, Lumii Tamar, into a crow, and has him fly off with the rest of the shards, to hide them all across Terrinoth. [RW]
These shards of the Orb eventually become known as the Stars of Timmorran. [RW]
Reaching the tower's summit and realizing he has failed, Waiqar takes the one Star from Timmorran's dead hands and vows not to rest until he has collected all the Stars and reformed the Orb. As a result of this oath, Waiqar and all the men he commanded immediately die and then rise again as undead. [RW], [RA]
