I posted quite a lot of this in the Forgeworld open day, but I went through the notes i made and had missed out a few things and i thought it would be good to get its own thread.
IA13 is called War Machines of the Lost and the Damned. It is written by Andy Hoare and edited by Talima Fox.
It will be released in Summer/Autumn 2014.
The book will contain an updated Chaos Renegades list similar to the one found in the Vraks trilogy, along with numerous chaos vehicles/war machines including updated versions of the Horus Heresy vehicles for the traitors to use in regular games of 40k. It's unclear whether this will be a variant of the 'Defenders of Vraks' list in IA1, the servants of slaughter list in IA6 or the servants of decay list in IA7. I imagine it will be a reworked version of all three. (i.e. quite chaosy but without the campaign specific units like the Alpha Legion). Talima described the list as being the renegade version of what the list in IA12 was for the Death Korps of Krieg - make of that what you will!
The art book was on display at the open day and had pictures of a Chaos Thunderhawk, Chaos Stormeagle and the Anvilluss pattern and Kharybdis assault claw.
Speaking to Andy Hoare he mentioned the rules for the Horus heresy era war machines would be updated to reflect the ten thousands years that they had spent in the warp and the access to munitions that the chaos legions had. He gave two examples, the first being the missile load out on the Storm Eagle, instead of the tempest rockets load out it will have access to Balefire missiles.
The second example was the class M2KB Landraider. Instead of the explorator augatory web which is designed for scanning enemy positions and co-ordinating forces, however due to the corruption of the warp this is now used to intercept enemy positions and thwart their movements. It will be interesting to see the rules for this.The greater brass scorpion of Khorne and the decimator engine also had new renders on screen in the graphics part, which suggests that updated rules for these models.
It's also worth noting that HH3: Extermination contains references to Iron Warrior specific siege tanks used during the battle of Paramar and the dark mechanicum using stalk tank like units to hunt the raven guard survivors on Istavaan, so it will be interesting to see whether these units crop up in either future HH books or IA13.
I am speaking to my friend who was also chatting to lots of the designers about this and many other things, so ill ask him if i've missed anything!
Afterthought - i'm not 100% sure that the name is correct, reading Vraks again all the lists refer to Renegades and heretics, but the start of the title was definitely "war machines of the".

Laut verschiedener Seite (Warseer etc.) gibt es folgendes Gerücht:

Buch 4 - Conquest:

Keine neue Legion.

Armeen, die enthalten sind: Sons of Horus, Death Guard, Salamanders, Imperial Fists, Iron Hands, Mechanicum, Dark Mechanicum, Solar Auxilla, Knights und Titan Legionen.

Fokus liegt angeblich auf den Charaktern.

The Battle Bunnies are sitting in the front centre of the Conquest announcement. Here is what we have learned.

- No new Legions.
- Full Solar Auxilia army list.
- Questoris Knights army list
- T ool box to run large Campaigns. Legion Relic weapons and wargear, Loyalist and traitors.
- Shattered Legion gaming option and rules to use them.
- New units for Legions.
- Something buried beneath Isstvan 5. . . . Will come back.

Next:
- Calth, Shadow Crusade, underworld war might be 2 books.
- Dark Mechanicum based on extermination list but darker and early additions.
- Ordinatus will be done!
- No new Primarch rules yet.
- Currently it's a one off book but may be a trilogy.
- Might release some more Shoulder Pads for unreleased Legions.
- No plans for BFG.
- No Titans. More Knights though inc some which are new designs.
- No plans for agents etc. but may be show only models.

-Vulkan is 2 - 3 months away!
- FW would love to do BFG again...but its a long way off and definitely an if.
- Don't expect Skitari anytime soon
- Expect other auxillary forces with future books, like Spire Guard for Prospero and Calth Defence (and Word Bearers cultists) for Calth
- They will never do Xenos in 30k. They say that all the time.
- Calth, Ultramar and the Shadow Campaign is likely next and may be more than one book.
- Mechanicus Knight Titan is in the works
- They've said they have reached about 50% of the series chronologically. Of the 14 years the Heresy lasts, theyre up to year 7-8.

Battle for Prospero
- Prospero is chronologically below Istavan.
- Prospero has been pushed back 1-2 years.
- Prospero is late because they need to do right by the four force. All the forces in the book are very unique with real challenges in rules and models.

Horus Heresy IV - Conquest
- Expecting Conquest by the end of this year, but likely not available at UK GD
- Will include rules for Knight Titan armies, Dark Mechanicus, a full campaign system and "toolbox" to create a lot of different games.Will also feature rules for Shattered Loyalist legions, different legions banding together after getting screwed by Horus.
- Book will also feature Legion Relics for lots of legions, including ones we've not seen. These aren't Heresy relics....these are relics of the Dark Age of Technology.
- The Dark Mechanicus won't be very different from regular Mech yet. Not enough time has passed for them to go full evil.

Solar Auxillary Army
- The new transport and Basilisk are for the Imperial army Solar Auxillary.
- There is intention to do female Solar Auxillia and Officers.

-They actually said this will be the least Mariney book of the entire series. They will be there, but won't get much new. Instead it will be Imp Army, Mechanicus and Knights taking centre stage.

Bin ich umso mehr der Meinung, dass dieser neuen Forgeworld Dreadnought fast gar keine Ähnlichkeit mit dem alten StarQuest/Starcrusade Dreadnought hat. Hätte der neue Forgeworld Dreadnought Beine mit nach vorn geöffneten Kniegelenken (Vogelbeine) gehabt wie der alten StarQuest/Starcrusade Dreadnought,wäre ich anderer Meinung.

New Knights coming including some more Chaotic in look

Fire Wasps Legio Ignatum is in Solar, as with Knight house Taranis, but they also have forces roaming the Galaxy fighting as normal as the Heresy kicks off.

They are real proud of the Campaign system from Conquest, may be the basis of the Thramas and Shadow Crusade but they will look at it when they come to it.

Dorms Chainsword is really really big. That's why it is unwieldy!

Tempest may have sub-lists and sub groups of the Solar Auxilia, to add more variables.

Regarding Plastic MK2, MK3, MK4 they are not planning to do them for the foreseeable future but they have not dismissed the idea.

There will be more than one of each Primarch model. Chaos for sure, as they will be pre and post Heresy. Probably loyalists too (But not poor Ferrus Manus).There will be a Garro model.
There will be a Warlord Titan, but not anytime soon. But when Tony Cotrell asked who would buy a Warlord, fully 1/2 the audience raised their hands.
Horus Heresy Book Series
- Book 5 will cover Calth.
- Book 6 covers the shadow crusade.
- Book 7 is penciled in for Prospero
– Mars Civil War book being within 4-5 books.
Also next primarch is almost certainly going to be Guilliman due to the announcement being held back till the ‘Tempest’ seminar Sunday (about ultramarines).
