It's a great time to be a Warhammer Age of Sigmar player.
With the Muster for War starting this week, the final battles of the Realmgate Wars approaching, a Season of War on the horizon and the upcoming General's Handbook, loads of new Warhammer Age of Sigmar armies have been popping up all over the Games Workshop offices.
We persuaded four players embarking on new armies to share their progress, trials and tribulations. (What is tribulation anyway? Whatever it is, if one shows up, we'll definitely report on it.)
This week, Mike, Jim, Joey and Anthony have each painted up a hero for their forces. Take a look.
Here are the four gamers together with their painted heroes.
We'll have more from the guys next week, when they will each be showing off their first full battleline units.
Michael Knight (Tzeentch Arcanites)

Warhammer Quest Silver Tower was the starting point for Michael Knight's Tzeentch-themed force. So far he's painted up this kaleidoscopic Gaunt Summoner and familiars. We especially liked the use of the new Gem Paints as a sapphire glaze across the armour. We're looking forward to seeing more models in that colour scheme next week…
Jim Lister (Ironjawz)

This mighty Megaboss is the first model in the Waaagh! of Jim Lister.
Jim has dubbed his new warleader Duffgob Facesmasha, and fully intends to show just why when this champion of Destruction takes part in his first battles.
Jim has already made a start on a mob of Brutes, which we hope to show you next week.
Anthony Morgan (Stormcast Eternals)

Lord Relictor Ianthin begins Anthony Morgan's new Stormhost.
This grim warden belongs to the Chamber Occulta, a Stormcast Eternals Chamber of Anthony's own invention.
The model has been converted using parts from Chaos models: just a simple head and weapon swap with a Blood Reaver has created a truly unique leader for his force.
Joey Logan (Flesh-Eater Courts)

Crypt Haunter Courtier Lord Bloodgorge is the harbinger of Joey Logan's Flesh-Eater Court.
In Bloodgorge's mind, he is a noble crusader, leading his knights in search of their lost lord, King Flayclot and his sons. In reality, of course, he is the vanguard of a carrion host seeking out their undead masters.
Fun Fact: despite selecting an army of rabid cannibals, Joey is actually a vegetarian… or at least that is the reality he chooses to perceive (we're pretty sure we've seen him chow down on a whole chicken, while swearing blind it was a potato salad…)
