Dynastopian Wars

The world of Dystopian Wars is similar to our own, but subtly different. The year is 1870 and the Industrial Revolution occurred decades earlier than in our own world. Technology is far advanced, and in many cases, unrecognisable, which has led to the development of fantastic naval vessels, hulking land ships and terror from the skies in the form of airships and war balloons.
Dystopian Wars is set in a Steampunk Victorian world and is designed to ensure a fun game with a large selection of high quality models in a couple of hours. The rules support Naval, Aerial and Land models from the outset, so that you can set up battles and scenarios in any combat setting. Spartan Games will supply highly detailed, high quality resin and metal miniatures with which you can roam the high seas, scour the smog filled skies of Dystopian Wars for enemy flying ships, or doggedly defend the cities and countryside of your home nation.

Heroes of Myth & Legend
Our first set of 40mm miniatures start our journey into the world of Greek Mythology and focus in the main on Jason and his Argonauts. We've kicked off with a number of classic modelsfor this particular myth and added a few extra models along the way.

Firestorm Armada
This game is our second major product release, and follows the same ethos with which we designed The Uncharted Seas, both are games that are easy to learn and give a fast paced game. We are big fans of naval games whether they are on the ocean or in deep space, so it was a logical progression to ask our sculptors here at Spartan Games to work on some futuristic ship designs.
Firestorm Armada launched on November 23rd with four fleets in place: Terrans, Dindrenzi, Aquans and Sorylian. All four fleets also had Carrier upgrade ships available for them and in our 96 page core rule book we detailed two more races - The Directorate and The Relthoza. Over time we will roll out more upgrade ships, including such things as Escorts, Heavy Cruisers, Leviathans, Gunships and so on.

Uncharted Seas
The Uncharted Seas is a fast paced, action packed game of naval tactical combat set in a world of high fantasy. Using superb resin and white metal miniatures, and controlled by fast and easy to learn rules, the game allows you to wage war with fantastical squadrons of mighty warships.
Choose from one of several races, including the Iron Dwarfs with their steam powered ironclads, Orc Raiders with their grotesque machines of war, the ever powerful Dragon Lords, an ancient race of magical seafarers, Imperial Humans hell bent on grabbing as much land as they can and the Thaniras Elves with their sleek ships of war.

Was wäre wenn Aliens die Erde angriffen? Diese Frage beschäftigt die Autoren und Hollywood bereits seit über einem Jahrhundert. Nun nimmt sich auch Spartan Games des Themas an und lässt bei Dystopian Wars in einer alternativen Realität (ja, es ist eine alternative Realität zu einer alternativen Realität, bitte bekommt deswegen keine Knoten in die Hirnwindungen 😉 ) Aliens, genannt "the Invaders" die Erde mit einem Vernichtungskrieg gegen die Menschheit überziehen.


Das Ganze soll in der Form einer Kampagne stattfinden, die mit dem Erscheinen der Invaders am 5. November startet. Die Kampagne hat ein offenes Ende und wird das eigentliche Dystopian Wars Universum nicht beeinflussen.

Um sich auf die Kampagne vorzubereiten, kann man bereits die Regeln für die Invaders herunterladen.

Erneut mal wieder sehr geniale Modelle von Spartan. Die Jungs können es auch in 28mm, was ich so erst nicht für möglich gehalten habe.

Zu den neuen Modellen:
Das besondere Charaktermodell im Dampf-Rollstuhl der Briten ist dabei zwar gut designt, aber groß Kämpfen wird der wohl eher nicht können. Der Text erinnert da an ein Verstärker- bzw. Anführermodell, sowas wie mehr Moral, bessere Kampfwerte, etc.
Die Knights Templar der Briten sind absolut genial und gefallen mit auf Anhieb. Da lasse ich sogar die ebenfalls sehr guten Teutonic Knights der Preußen für stehen. Gut das ist mir die Preußen und Briten als meine beiden DL-Fraktionen ausgesucht habe. Diese Modelle könnte man sicher auch für andere Systeme umfunktionieren (Basis für Kreuzritter der 40k Grey Knights u. Sororitas-Armeen?).
Und das "Steam-Jetbike" der Japaner hat auch was. Die Japaner hätte ich wohl sogar noch knapp vor den Briten als zweite Fraktion genommen, aber da Preußen und Japaner im Hintergrund verbündet sind, habe ich mich eben für die Engländer entschieden.


Was mich aktuell noch sehr stutzig mach ist das Fehlen eines Regelbuchs für Dystopian Legions. Ende der Woche kommen jetzt nur die Starterboxen raus, die dann Einsteigerregeln enthalten sollen. Ein eigenes Regelwerk ist aktuell aber noch gar nicht angekündigt. Spartan zeigt zwar fleißig neue Miniaturen, aber ohne ein Regelwerk dürfte da Anfangs einiges in der Schwebe hängen. Mir ist jedenfalls nocht nicht klar, wie das am Ende laufen soll und ob es in absehbarer zeit ein vollwertiges Buch geben wird.

Stimmt. Es wird erstmal ein Quickplay Rulebook geben, dass man bei denen als pdf herunterladen kann. Hier hat Spartan es heute angekündigt: http://www.spartangames.co.uk/the-quickplay-rulebook Das Buch wird es auch in den Startersets geben - also bin ich erstmal beruhigt.

Im kommenden Jahr wird dann ein 196 Seiten umfassendes Hardcoverregelbuch erscheinen, das zusätzlich noch Kampagnenregeln, Bemalhinweise und Armeelistenvarianten enthält. Die jetzigen Armeelisten sind "living documents" und werden in den kommenden Wochen noch durch neue Modelle und ihre regeln ergänzt.

Auf Seite 35 der QSR sind Soldaten der Preussen und die Beine eines Roboters abgebildet. Weiss jemand ob es von dem Fotos gibt? Ausser den Beinen natürlich? 😉

Ansonsten muss ich schon alleine dieses PDF loben.... Da wird aber wirklich dick aufgefahren bei Spartan.
werde das Thema sehr interessiert verfolgen.
