It IS a standalone box, like EF was, however the contents will be released separately as part of the new 30k range when it launches, this game will have a different ruleset to 40k.

I'm just saying the info is all there from my original post. As of yet the only real unknown quantities are:-

A/ What other kits will form part of the 30k range
B/ What ruleset 30k will use
C/ What format the "standalone" HH box will take, i.e. will it be a lite version of the upcoming 30k and therefore make the box similar to the stormclaw etc. that basically provides 2 opposing forces, and in this case a ruleset and maybe scenarios. Or will it be something more aking to execution force, a standalone game that doesn't lead into the main game, other than being able to use the miniatures from it for 40k.

For me the most interesting part of this whole 30k thing isn't the rules, as god knows by that point in time GW will probably expect you to write your own if AoS is anything to go by, no it's the potential of the 30k range. Sure it starts out with marine vs marine, but you have to ask what condition the other known races were in at that point in time, what were their tech levels like etc, what about races that are maybe gone in 40k but were still around in 30k time. I think this has potential to be something special if handled right. But judging by recent events I don't have much faith this will be the case. I don't want to sound like the doombringer BUT I am fully expecting something dumbed down to the levels of AoS that is purely a sideshow to the main event of selling models. Silver lining in this case is the history is already there with 30k they can't suddenly wreck it all and replace it with the child like scrawlings of some idiot, and the very worst that can happen is HH models get mass produced in plastic and people continue to use the rules for 40k/FW HH to use them, sadly fantasy doesn't get that option.

via Warseer’s Apologist 8-20-2015
“Can’t remember where it was in the old thread (or possibly another forum), but I believe it’s been rumoured that the box is themed around Phall, with Imperial Fists versus Iron Warriors.
I’ll see if I can dig out a link to where I saw that.
….
It is noted that the forces are asymmetrical; themed around a boarding party and defenders.”
Via DakkaDakka’s Whisper of Truth
… Also the contents rumours are slightly wrong. The forces aren’t an exact mirror of one another. One force is a Pride of the Legion style force. Some might even call it a boarding party… The other is based off normal Tac. Marines.

As for the ship name, I don’t think the game is based on this particular ship, but I’d go with the “Tribune.” Or one of the other warships in that warzone anyway.

WhisperofTruth responds:

“Ding ding, we have a winner.
If I remember rightly the box has around 44 models. Including 3 Mk4 boxes, terminators, cataphracti and the two characters.”

Lords of Wargaming haben sich mal wieder geäußert.

Lords of Wargaming auf Facebook:

Oh, you think it's going to be Battle of Phall? How cute...

It will have it's own rules created by GW, but everyone will use for FW and they should. 30k is vastly better than 40k.

It will be two legions that hate each other. Any guesses?

Looks like we have a winner!

Art is Resistance auf Warseer:

Lorgar, Zardu Layak, Erebus, Kor Phaeron, Guilliman and the respective Word Bearer & Ultramarine HH units have been removed from the cabinets at Warhammer World 'for photographic use' in the Studio (NOT FORGEWORLD).

Now, why would that be I wonder?

Lords of Wargaming, nachdem gefragt wurde wann die Horus Heresy Box erscheint.

Lords of Wargaming auf Facebook:

November or December. No rule details, but it's GW's version of HH.

Wintermute auf Warseer:
The rules are not 8th Ed and they haven't been Sigmared simplified. The major difference is that the 'read this first' sections and the reference cards have simple to follow tables. For example the BS rule instead of being the traditional 'BS3 =4+' style in fact has the BS as '4+'. All other rules are as per 7th edition which will also be in the box.

No information about the minis in the box though.

Atia auf B&C:

Some info from Arac (Tabletopwelt.de):

Talk with Simon Egan there will be plastic Heresy from GW, but they (Forge World) will continue

also via Arac:

Citadel seems to take over the basic troops (there was a talk with Simon about details and problems with plastic) - seems like FW will produce characters and more upgrade kits.

another interesting info-snip ...

For this event the Warhammer World Studio team will reveal a brand new 10′ by 6′ Warhammer 40,000 battle diorama, featuring two armies not yet seen on our dioramas

Away from the hustle and bustle, in our custom seminar area, hear from the experts of Games Workshop on the latest Warhammer 40,000 releases and exciting topics.

We can’t reveal the seminar titles yet, as that would give away too many secrets, but you can expect:

Seminar sessions from the Black Library, Forge World and Citadel teams.
Revealing discussions about the latest releases, behind the writing of Codexes, inside the world of Warhammer 40,000, and perhaps some upcoming releases… straight from the source.

Q&A opportunities – your chance to field those burning questions you’ve always wanted to ask. Different seminar topics on Saturday and Sunday.

Horus Heresy?

From Forgeworld:

Not only will there be seminars, hobby demonstrations and a whole host of writers, designers and artists to meet, there'll be new exhibitions and exclusive merchandise and models too!

All weekend you can join in the massive Titan Clash of Medusion Zercsus. On Saturday there'll be a huge army display from across Games Workshop, and Sunday will see the next Golden Daemon of the year. Have you got what it takes to lift one of the hallowed trophies or perhaps even the Slayer Sword itself?

Looks like FW is involved in the new display

BrookM auf Dakkadakka:
Stores can expect a call around the second of November about something big coming their way. Both the White Dwarf Weekly and Warhammer Visions from somewhere around that time will come with a special pin each.

Von Atia bestätigt:

Atia auf B&C:
Oh, and fans of pins: you won't be dissapointed next month

WarGameStore auf Facebook:

According to my account manager at Games Workshop there is a, "big release" on November 14th but doesn't yet know what it is. We are, at this stage, simply being told to keep that day clear of other hobby related activity in the store. As you know, we are not allowed to give any product related information in advance of embargo dates and I'm complying with that, I think. Based on the rumours that have been circulating for some months now it seems a fair bet that November 14th might be a good release date for a Horus Heresy box set, were such a thing to exist. All speculation on my part you understand. I get most of my new release information from my customers

SlavesToDarkness auf B&C:

The shelf strips have been sent out ready. Nice red with 'The Horus Heresy' on them. Had a look at the release sheets as well, both the 7th and 14th are red dates, advance order and release day it seems. Sat on 100 quids worth of vouchers ready, gonna be a long 4 weeks.

I got a pik of the strips on my phone, as for number of boxes etc i have no idea. Manager wont get told anythin until the week before.

Dont know if anyone else has confirmed the release date but according to my source (today) it is definitely a November release for the HH set....some stores have set aside a week for complete revamp/refurb of their shops layouts and gaming tables to reflect the new set being released in November so have been told to advise customers of their being shut for some decorating work in store....going to be big splash, new boards, big posters etc.

Ja, es geht endlich los 🙂

The Horus Heresy - Betrayal at Calth (A Miniatures Game of Desperate Battle in the 31st Millennium)

Preorder am 7. November

Release am 14. November

via a Reader on Faeit 212
I just came out of my GW store (from buying the codex tau) because the big shipment came today..... and ..... surprise !!!
they just receive the "black box"!!! looks incredible !
a Contemptor inside!

I guess anyone can email in as an “anonymous source” and be completely wrong about stuff. Here is the low down:

- It is a Boxed game with tiles. (Yes it’s just a box game)
- NO FUCKING XENOS! This is about the galactic civil war of man. That means no bullshit Eldar, Tau, Orks,
Necrons, etc. If you hear anyone say there will be rules for Xenos, they are lying to you and they’re a major bullshit artist. This isn’t 40k, this is 30k and we don’t give a shit what color your Eldar dress is.
- THIS IS NOT A LIMITED RELEASE – this is a boxed game and the models maybe used for Forge World’s Age of Darkness. If you don’t own their books you are missing out.
- Follow up to the last point, BUY THE FORGE WORLD BOOKS THEY ARE OUTSTANDING AND WORTH EVERY DIME OR PENCE (for my English friends).
- The sales of the box will dictate what will be released next, how it will be released and when it will be released. ONCE AGIN, IF THESE SITES SAY THEY KNOW WHAT IS COMING OUT, THEY’RE LYING.

Contents of the Box:
30x Tactical marines MK IV ONLY!
5x Catapharctii Terminators
1x Contemptor with Lascannon and CCW (FW Contemptor arms are interchangeable with the new plastics)
1x Praetor
1x Chaplain

The game box will be the only way to get the models for the initial release. The more you buy the faster the minis will come out in squad form.

PS. If I seem salty, I am. I’m tired of these sites playing with your hobby emotions and it pisses me off!

Don’t hate the media, become the media!

Bilder der Box - the Betrayal at Calth

Decals

http://cdn.bols.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/HH0008.jpg

Decal Sheet.
