This does not affect all brothers and I'm getting this from a WhatsApp friend's screenie. Here's the message I see, am typing it out verbatim, from a webpage from when he was doing some shopping on the GW site:
We just wanted to let you know that from 2nd May 2017 all Games Workshop products in your country will be priced in US dollars, with prices to match the USA. You will still make the purchases in GBP at the current price level until 12 noon BST on the 2nd of May 2017, and any orders placed in GBP will be charged in GBP when despatched. games-workshop.com will then be unavailable for a few hours whilst these charges take effect.
If you've got any questions, please get in touch using the Customer Service number above (the top of the page lists Customer Services phone for the UK. There's also a Crimson Fists Marine on the right).
Then signed off by the Games Workshop Web Team.
For those of you shopping online, please let us know:
- if you get the same message
- which country you're ordering from/to/etc.
In our case, it's Hong Kong, China.

I think it IS about the GBP, the Brexit, about how the British pound sterling dropped pretty fast right after that vote, and if you're anything like our meta we all started going to the Forgeworld site and buying in bulk while it was cheap (turns out we didn't have to rush, the GBP is still kinda at the rate at the time, I know because I was the one fulfilling the 30k order for my local Brothers). We talked about this months earlier, when studying GW's half-year financial report, which was a huge positive turnaround we should all be happy about. The GBP may fluctuate even more in the coming months/years, everyone has their own opinion.
